Greetings friends. Today we are going blaeberry picking!
Due to my lack of opposable thumbs, it will of course be Gail who does all the work.
To be frank, it is not very exciting, watching your human pick berries that she, but not you, will be sprinkling on her breakfast cereal.
So I think I'll go and play hide and seek.
Who can see me?
Hoping that you too are enjoying Nature Friday with our dear friends Arty, Jakey and Rosie.
BOL! We thought it was a typo until we read the article! Very interesting, but as you say, Bertie, more interesting for humans.
ReplyDeletewe always grin when the mama tries to get some berries for a cake or so... she mostly eats them all and lands with an empty bucket at home LOL

ReplyDeleteNothing beats the berry straight off the bush, Bertie lad. Something I know pawhaps Gail appreciates, but thank you for letting us see the setting at least!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
What a wonderful little berry that sounds so yummy. We see you, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteThere are some blueberry bushes on a walk that we sometimes take. Mom lets us eat the berries right off the bush if we want to. It would be boring if we had to wait for her to pick a lot of them. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteBlaeberry you say...love the spelling...Scottish chic..!! Does it sound like blueberry?
ReplyDeleteWe had a delicious salad the other day with
artichokes, walnuts, blae(blue)berries and cherry tomatoes. Very refreshing
Hugs Cecilia
Haven't picked blueberries since I was a kid. Now I get them from the local farmers. I sometimes add them to Alex's kibble.
ReplyDeleteBertie...oh Beeeerrrrrtttttie!! Where ever are you hiding in all those gorgeous blaeberry bushes?!

It looks like you were having fun playing hide and seek Bertie. We think Gail should share some of those berries with you...unless you don't like them.
ReplyDeleteWe have raspberries and blackberries right in our yard. Lady picks them. Hope the blueberries were good.
ReplyDeleteHi hi hi! Ojo here! Hurray for berry picking! I love to pick berries! And eat them! You are Walking in a most amazing spot! I would bounce and bounce and bounce there! Did you sniff any interesting creatures? Can I come with you next time?
ReplyDeleteWe have seen things that look like those flat end blueberries grow on shrubs but we though they were poisonous ours probably are. We have picked wild blackberries and gooseberries and we have field picked strawberries that's it.

Wow... we had never heard of blaeberries. You have taught this old dog something new. I have also just mentioned you in my latest (very rare as I don't post often these days) blog post as I would value your scientific opinion of the topic as, in my old age, I am most concerned about being replaced by a chicken or a lizard.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lovely outing, and delicious too! And you didn't get to at least try one berry? No fair!
