Just because it's raining...

...that's no excuse to stay inside.

Far better to go for a walk though the Ballogie Estate, which is where Gail and I were on Friday morning.

After a mile or so walking through the forest we reached open fields and, yes, the umbrella was still up...

On arrival at the village of Marywell I checked out the library but didn't see anything suitable for Gail so we pressed on.

Gail claimed the skies were clearing. Is this what a clearing sky looks like to you?

Back into woodland, five miles into the six mile walk, and despite the continued precipitation, I was still going strong...

....only stopping to pose nicely when Gail waved a treat in front of my face.

And now I would just like to point out how my WFT furs blend perfectly with the autumn colours and still look adorable, despite the two hour trudge through the rain and mud.

  1. Yes, of course you look adorable, and that was a lovely walk for you and Gail, Bertie.
How I wish we could have come with you, although my human doubts we'd manage the six miles until we've had lots more practise! I've had to make do with walks along by the sea, which is all very nice, but hardly as inspiring as a tramp through the forest.

  2. You are a real trooper, Bertie, and you look wonderful after that long, wet and beautiful walk!

  3. Hari OM
Aye, the very definition of dreich there, Bertie lad (it has been 'washing machine conditions' this side of the country - though today is brightening... you did a fine job of keeping Gail going in that and you get extra kudos for posing pawfeckly to demonstrate your natural blending! Hugs and wgas, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. Bertie you are one handsome, tough, water repellant WFT. Your furs are most suitable for all your surroundings. I might be a tad jealous over the furs on your head and face such a pretty shade of auburn!
So I have a burning question: If one is suppose to make hay while the sun shines....what should one do when it rains?
    Hugs Cecilia

  5. You sure look like you enjoyed every inch of that walk, Bertie. We like how your furs compliment the fall colors.

  6. Wow! You and your mom sure add up a lot of mileage on your walks! But you're lucky to have such wonderful places to go.

  7. your fur coat held up well, you look wonderful and do blend with the autumn colors. I am not fond of walking in rain, but when beau says we do, then we do

  8. Ya do look good, even if it wuz wet and muddy.

  9. You look stunning in the autumn scenery, Bertie. And we are quite impressed that you walked for more than six miles!!!

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  10. You are a champ. Nothing keeps you away from your walks. I hope you didn't have to have a bath when you got home.

  11. Even in the pouring rain, you keep going! That's great---and thanks for letting us tag along!

  12. We have to admit, you have the perfect furs for rainy season Bertie! We sure wish our hair was a bit wirier...then maybe Mama would lay off the raincoats!
