Doric (NE Scots dialect) to English Translation

Good morning Walter, how are you today? Oh, getting along just fine Bertie, and you? I'm feeling a bit under the weather. So what have you been up to Bertie? Don't tell tales to Gail, but when she was out on her bicycle yesterday, I sneaked out and chased a fox, and as a result I'm quite exhausted. Bertie, you're a very mischievous dog. Anyway, good to have a quick chat. I'm going home now.

Gail says: Please note that Bertie's tale about chasing a fox was pure fantasy, invented to impress his Labrador friend. Typical male behaviour in any language, one might say...

  1. Bertie, you bad lad - telling tales! Supposing your pal finds out - what will it do to your street cred?

  4. I understood every word of the dog chatter.. but if I heard it spoken would not.. reading is easier. we tried to watch a movie, set and created in Scotland and about 10 minutes in, we had to give up, with hearing problems and heave accents to us, we gave up....

  5. BOL BOL BOL Bertie you told Fox tale, kinda like the fish tales here. Walter seemed quite impressed. You forgot to mention that it weight 87 lbs and was 87 inches long. Bertie I hope as the day progresses you are feeling a bit more WFT'ish

  6. You and Walter (not this Walter) had a nice little chat at the park, Bertie. It's okay to embellish your tales once in a while. Maybe you got confused with a dream you had.
