Once a year in late August, my Park is invaded by Clydesdale Horses.
We saw them a couple of days ago on our early morning walk (actually not so very early as it was a Saturday), being prepared for show.
Gail thinks they are magnificent creatures, and I know for a fact that they are very big.
Can you believe it takes three humans to wash their hooves?
And unlike a wire-haired fox terrier, a Clydesdale does not fit conveniently in a kitchen sink.
I need 3 people too when it comes to bathtime... but hey they don't fit in a sink? that's not practical if you ask me, it's better to have a dog than a horse, right?
ReplyDeleteClydesdales are magnificent animals. Didn't know it took three people to wash each foot....thought it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteThe Clydesdales are such beautiful horses and huge! Steer clear of their feets, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteClydesdales are popular in St Louis where my humans grew up. They pull the beer wagons!
ReplyDeleteStunning absolutely Stunning. Mom also thinks the Clydesdales are magnificent too. Many many years ago the they came Clydesdales were on a tour of sorts they came to Raleigh the peeps and my sissy saw them. And they also visited their stables at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA.
ReplyDeleteMom was so wishing she had a trailer with her when she saw the 2 week old colt. OMCs then she heard how much they eat. MOL
Thank you for sharing these lovely post with us.
Hugs to my WFT from Madi

ReplyDeleteOh yes, ineed, Clydesdales are tall and noble beasts and deserve their pampering - but I think you get that little bit extra special treatment Bertie lad!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Confession time Bertie: the only reason I watch the Super Bowl football game here in the United States is in hopes of seeing the wonderful Clydesdales in a commercial. They are the very best!
ReplyDeleteThey ARE indeed beautiful creatures. Anytime Mom sees them around here, they look magnificent. Not a grooming task she would ever want to undertake.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Oh my...they are very regal horsies aren't they? Makes Mama glad we fit in the sink too!

Bertie,
ReplyDeleteWhen you are standing in the sink waiting for your paws to be washed, do you help Gail by pre-washing her dinner dishes? Enzo and I are too heavy to be lifted, but we suspect there are yummy remnants of food left on the bench.
Woofs,
Riley
Perhaps, one of their hooves could fit in the kitchen sink with you or maybe not.
ReplyDeleteThey are very magnificent and we understand they bring beer! πΊπ΄
ReplyDeleteHi hi hi! Ojo here! VERY BIG INDEED! Yikes! Too much work, I think! I do not fit in the sink, but I do fit in the bathtub. But don't remind my person. I do NOT like baths. (Do you like baths, friend?)
