An odd sort of Christmas this year

I'll be honest with you, I've had the hardest time of it, getting Gail to take a Christmassy photo for my blog, and this is the best she could manage.

Let me now show you what the house in Nottingham really looks like at the moment.

I'm told this is the last time I shall be staying in Human Granny's house. As you know, she no longer lives here, and apparently it has been sold and new people are moving in on 8th January.

To escape the house clearing chaos, I went to spend a quiet moment with Human Grandad in the parish burial ground. I think HGD would have been proud of the way I stood to attention in my best 'alert terrier' pose, and also would have liked the Christmas wreath Gail bought him.

Tomorrow we are taking Human Granny to Derbyshire for Christmas dinner with my poodle cousins Percy and Coco and their family. I am hoping that I shall have some properly festive photos to show you after that visit. I am also hoping that Percy (who is HUGE) will not be too bossy.

A Merry Christmas to my dear readers. I am so fond of you all.

  7. Merry Christmas, Bertie and Gail! I like to think that the family new to the Nottingham house will love it as you did. How could they not, with such lovely, big windows and restful view? Christmas present is made up of many Christmases past, and the wreathe is a touching reminder. Best in the New Year. James Bone & Eowyn, CWC

  10. Don't worry. SHE updated to Windows 10 and it won't download our photos from the camera. Santa has already visited, we've spent two hours at the beach and now SHE is heading off guilt free, to enjoy Christmas Day with friends. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Dearest Bertie and Gail, the selling of a long-loved home is quite the wrench (not to mention a LOT of hard work)... I think your idea for respite was a grand one and HGD would most certainly have been smiling down on you!!! Have a wonderfur day today... I anticiapte the same... having landed back yesterday, I slept well and woke at usual 5am.... now to resist raiding the tree before the others arise!!!!!!!!! Blessings, Love, Hugs and Wags... 14. A bittersweet time regarding the house for sure, but it's very good that HG is so settled. Best wishes for Christmas and 2016 Gail and Bertie!

  15. Merry Christmas Bertie and Gail. We love your Christmas photo and tree. We hope you had a very lovely Christmas dinner with Human Gma and your cousins.
Mom surely knows the bitter sweetness of Gail's task of packing up her childhood home full of a lifetime of memories. It will soon be occupied by a new family. We are very sure they will see and feel the love the walls of the home holds for them.
Bertie what a handsome and respectful photo of you visiting Human Gdad. For sure your best WFT self. We know he loved you and is smiling.
Sending warm hugs to Gail and Merry Christmas

  17. Oh, Bertie & Gail, what a tough haul at this time of year. Anytime of year, of course, but especially during the holidays -- to pack up the house. We're sending you tons of love. And support. We're in Idaho. Kisses and wags, Tootsie & her humans

P.s. Special wags to my doggy-godson.
