  13. Great singing of great song! Only one small complaint, this greeted us when we clicked for the video:

This video contains content from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
    Sorry about that.

Good grief, Bertie, we are Americans and not used to being slighted in this way. Can't you DO something about that?

  14. Hi Jo Stella and Zkhat, sorry you couldn't access the link in the US. I've changed it to a different YouTube link. Can any US readers tell me if this one works?
    Gail.

  15. Nope. We just checked and we got the same 'blocked by EMI' message. Not sure why 'they' need that SOPA legislation that so many internet sites here were protesting against today; looks like 'they're' already successful in blocking uses they haven't been paid for. Not that we're unsympathetic to creators and owners wanting to control access to their property, like when unscrupulous perps steal stuff from doggie [and kitty] blogs.

Anyway, we don't know that song. And now we still don't. Once Wikipedia comes back online, we'll have to check it out.

Did they tape the Hamish MacBeth series in your neck of the woods? Landscape & village sure look similar. We think the series even had a nice little WFT in it.

  16. Hi Jed and Abby
Thanks for the feedback. Try googling 'Ken Dodd, Happiness'?
The village in the photo is Inveralligin. Hamish MacBeth was filmed around Plockton, about sixteen miles to the south, as the crow flies, (much much more by very windy road!) As you say, the landscape is similar. The dog in the series was a Westie called 'Jock'.
    Cheers, Gail.

  17. Our mother starts drooling when she sees the pictures of where you live. If she lived there she might never stop singing (not a good thing as she has a dreadful voice). all of moms life she has been obsessed with the UK and dreamed of life in an english village. Sigh, but she is stuck in the US of A.

Anyway those comments about Christopher Robin on our blog where very intersting. We were so upset when we discovered a few years ago that Pooh was being held captive in the US. Poor bear is so very British indeed, he should be returned to his home village and displayed there!
