But just in case there are lingering doubters, let me show you some pictures from yesterday's walk in the woods with the local WFT group at Crathes Castle .
You might imagine that the weather forecast for the afternoon would deter some,...
...but of course you would be wrong!
A grand total of eleven foxies assembled in the car park for a meet and greet before setting off into the woods in the rain.
Heading onto the boardwalk, an oncoming sheltie caused a bit of a traffic hiatus, but he soon realised he was well outnumbered and gave way.
There were of course multiple pauses for communal sniffing sessions.
For some reason we WFTs were kept away from the immediate vicinity of the castle where most of the tourists congregate, and instead proceeded through the woods and past a small lake. By this stage in the walk, the humans were looking even more bedraggled than the pups.
Despite the continuing downpour, a group photo was attempted - the level of cooperation among the subjects varied but eventually some semblance of order was achieved.
Back at the car park, Jimbob and Vikki were more than ready to head for home. As, truth to tell, were Gail and I!
wht a wonderful day you had... oh how we wish to be there with you....
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you all had - in spite of the rain!
ReplyDeleteBertie, you showed your excellent manners and training. It's easy to see in the last two photos that you are well used to posing naturally for the camera. I hope some of the more unruly pups took note!
Love,
Inca xx
OMDs Bertie you and your friends and their peeps are very determined to get out in spite of the drenching weather. I guess you have to adjust to what each day brings. BOL BOL BOL "some semblance of order was achieved". Those words sound like the translate to 'herding cats'!! I must admit to being clueless as to which WFT was you. Per chance the one in the red slicker?

Bertie replies: I am the one sitting in the front of the group photo (no jacket).
DeleteThank you. Of course that is you 'cause it is the most handsome....I guess the red took over my mind. LOL

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfurs gathering, Bertie lad - I am so glad you were able to meet up with your clan and showed the weather it's not the boss of you!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Besides the photos!, one part of the walk that appeals is the broad group of folk who joined in, all united by the love of a dog.
ReplyDeleteWow! You are a hearty breed for sure, as are all your humans! We would have loved to walk with you, so fun! And the group photo is the BEST!
ReplyDeleteRosie and Redford
tell gail beau said you were the best behaved of all of them. this was shocking to see so many cuties all in one place. all of you and the humans are on the list of super hearty to mee
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun event and it's such a shame that you didn't have better weather but we can see that it didn't bother any of you too much!
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks like you all had a great time on your walk together. What a fun day!
ReplyDeleteDespite the rain, it was a fun day for all. Mom doesn't ming walking in the rain if the temps are in the 60s or 70s, but it is November damp, cold, rainy, and definitely not her kind of walking weather. We admire your stamina, Bertie (and Gail).

How awesome was that? I wish I had stumbled upon you in the woods
ReplyDeleteI’m afraid we would have been deterred. We don’t like wet backs. But what a wonderful— sight all those WFTs together!
ReplyDeleteGail says: Hamish the Westie hated a wet back, but Bertie never seems bothered, so he only wears a jacket when it's properly cold.
DeleteWow! What fun to see so many WFTs all together! Too bad the weather didn't cooperate.
