If it's not wet it's windy...

... as delegates to COP 26 in Scotland will currently be learning.

Here in the north-east of the country we are well away from the Glasgow mayhem, and while 200 of my working colleagues have been assisting the police in maintaining security at the climate conference, Gail and I have been blowing away the cobwebs on Forvie Sands (and occasionally pondering the wisdom of holding a crucial meeting aimed at mitigating global heating in a part of the world where many might welcome warmer weather...)

  2. What a beautiful beach you had all to yourself Bertie!
Our beaches are so different from yours. My human says it's imported sand from the Sahara, and because the tide doesn't come in and out as it does on your beaches. The sea just slops up and down a bit, so they clear the sand with big earth movers! We do get lots of seaweed though, and it's often left when there are no holiday makers about. Yesterday we walked along by the beach and there were one or two people actually in the sea - in November!

    1. Having been raised on British seaside holidays, Gail does not consider it a proper beach unless it has a sand castle destroying tide!

As you know, Bertie lad, Scotland is blessed with many beauteous beaches worthy of any tropical isle... but oh, the winds! Adorable clip of you bouncing along the strand... hugs and wags, YAM-auntyxxx

  5. Bertie, you look like a wind up dog toy trotting along so merrily in the sand.. so happy to see you enjoying the beach and treats.... this climate thing is hard to understand. here in Florida we have plenty of heat but what more heat means is Florida is sinking under the sea a few inches a year, not really sinking but the cold frozen stuff north is melting and raising our water. Beau ate a normal breakfast and did normal business. he is still limping and we are waiting impatiently to hear from the doctor

  6. Bertie bless your little WFT heart. Good thing you are a tough and strong and muscular WFT and could hold your ground with the wind.
I always thoroughly enjoy your videos

  14. Hi friend, Ojo here! I feel happy seeing you on that Beach! (They are taking away all our Beaches, saying "no dogs allowed anymore". This is very sad. But none of our Beaches are as beautiful as this one!) Enjoy your Beach for me!
