Ahead of the storm

Back in Aberdeen, and Gail insists on a longer walk first thing this morning.

"Before Storm Arwen arrives".

Things don't look too bad in Duthie Park.

But by the time we reach the other side of the river the storm clouds are amassing and the wind gaining strength.

Time to hasten home!

Did you know that our storms are named in alphabetical order?

Hmmm. So after Arwen, the next one will begin with B.

Storm Bertie has rather a fine ring to it, don't you think?

Happy Nature Friday friends!  And thanks once again to our blog hop hosts the LLB Gang

  1. The sky is sure pretty! They name our hurricanes in alphabetical order. Are you sure you want to be named after a storm, Bertie?!

  2. boy we would love a storm named by you... we bet he will damage nothing, right? Arwen means noble maid and we hope the storm will be noble and there is no danger or hard damage in your land...

Great shots of Duthie park, Bertie lad... yeah, I read Arwen was coming over on Friday into Saturday, but we had a heck of a blatter last night - or was that just the vanguard wind...??? 8`0 If anyone from the met office reads your blog (as well they ought) I see no reason NOT to name the next one in your honour. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. Bertie thank goodness your WFT rudder kept you on a straight path. I like the pink clouds and always enjoy Duthie Park. Bryan and I just returned from a 2 mile walk allllllll the way around Shelley Lake. We don't always walk around the entire lake.
Stay warm and yes Bertie should be then next named storm

  8. Same weather here, though we are awaiting the worst of the winds tonight. I took Oscar on the beach for a mad run before the storm comes, as I suspect we might be holed up tomorrow. He won't mind!

  9. We have just missed storm Dana here, which brought gale force winds, snow and heavy rain in the north. We just got the high winds and rain, so it wasn't much fun out walking.
Storm Bertie sounds a nice idea, but most people would curse your name if they had bad weather!

  11. We are glad you were able to get that walk in before the onset of the storm. We agree with the others that Storm Bertie had a nice ring to it, but we don't like to think of you as stormy:)
