Yes, we are talking canine politics today.
I have been admiring the soon to be resident White House dogs, Champ and Major.
But Gail is worried that, with post-Brexit US/UK trade negotiations coming up, our own 10 Downing Street pup Dilyn might lose out in any tussle regarding who gets the biggest bone.
I've told her not to worry, little Dilyn exudes 'soft power' with his pretty looks, and as a terrier can be trusted hold his ground when it come to defending sovereignty over dog treats.
For some reason, Gail is still not convinced...
as a terrier he can be trusted... we agree with you...
ReplyDeleteA thorny problem there Bertie, but I'm certain Dilyn will make sure he all the treats he can eat. In fact if he has too many, we could always offer to help him out...

ReplyDeleteHmmm, that's a bit of a poser, right enough Bertie lad. Though having seen many a terrier of one type or another get the best of much larger dogs in various environments, I think I agree with you! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Nobody messes with us Terriers!
ReplyDeleteDilyn might be tiny....but as we learned living with a vertically challenged mighty mini Dachshund ...dynamite comes in small packages.

Now that you have mentioned this, do you think you could get Dilyn to come over and boot the guy out of the white house so Dotus can move in? I will foot that bill plus buy lots of treats.
ReplyDeleteHi Bertie ~ Thanks for contacting and missing us. Lee got stuck in the Solvency II which came into effect on 1 January 2016 but the final stage five regulations are this year. AXA broke away from Equitable Doubts about the basis of the Solvency II legislation, in particular the enforcement of a market-consistent valuation approach have also been expressed by American subsidiaries of UK parents - the impact of the 'equivalency' requirements are not well understood and there is some concern that the legislation could lead to overseas subsidiaries becoming uncompetitive with local peers, resulting in the need to sell them off, potentially resulting in a 'Fortress Europe'. As an actuary Lee got caught up in the mess. And of course with our election Lee was into that. And trying to stay safe in a pandemic like we all are has left us only with spare change for time. You made us smile today seeing your message.

Love your post we need some decent dogs in the White House I am sure they have much moral behavior than the human we have had.
Dilyn is cute but we think Champ and Major would treat him fairly during negotiations, especially if there are enough treats for everyone.
ReplyDeleteOver here, we are glad there will finally be dogs back in the white house, and gorgeous dogs at that!

Major is a rescue dog, so he knows that we all have to help each other. I'm sure he will be very fair with Dilyn.
ReplyDeleteTerrier Power! Dilyn will make sure he gets the bigger bone. Now whether Boris gets a good deal is something else. He'll have to fight with the Irish Terriers.
ReplyDeleteIf Champ and Major are anything like their humans, we don't think Dilyn will have anything to worry about - they will be the DOTUS for ALL dogs:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We bet Dilyn has some top notch negotiation skills and may be able to negotiate his way into a bigger bone!
ReplyDeleteWe always put our kibble on the small dogs.
ReplyDeleteOh, nobody messes with us terriers! (don't tells anyone, butts Ma calls us 'terrierist'...)
ReplyDeleteI don't thinks there will be any problems, being all doggies are well behaved and have the best interests at heart!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
We know cousin Emma who is a terrier can hold her own so we are sure Dilyn will do just fine.
ReplyDeleteBut there are two DOTUS dogs and only one Dilyn. That's worrisome, I think. Perhaps they can all just share?!? DOTUS is a kinder and gentler administration than the previous one!
ReplyDeleteTerriers are very trustworthy indeed. I think that Champ and Major will be a great new addition to the White House team :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, that's a tricky one. I'll leave that for other muts to figure out
