Vertigo?

"Does Bertie suffer from vertigo?" Renate asked over breakfast on Sunday, and Gail replied that she didn't know, as she'd never taken me in a cable car before.

I am pleased to note that, showing great faith in my resilient and unflappable nature, Gail added,

"I think he'll be OK. Not much fazes him these days".

And so it was I got to ride in the Breitenberg Seilbahn in the Bavarian Alps on Sunday afternoon.
I'll admit that I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I was so determined not to let Gail down.

I told myself that we were in Germany, the land of Vorsprung durch Technik and all that, and after a minute or two I relaxed and, along with the humans, took great pleasure in looking out of the window and beholding the magnificent autumn Alpine landscape unfolding beneath us.

I am now more than  happy to recommend cable car travel to any of my canine friends, should you ever be offered the opportunity!

Later in the day we ventured across the nearby international border and I can now add Austria to the roster of countries I've visited.

When we arrived back home in Buchloe, Michael went downstairs to buy ice-cream sundaes for the humans. (Yes, our friends really do have an ice cream parlour on the ground floor of their apartment block. Imagine that!)

Renate and Michael have been such wonderful hosts that I am prepared to forgive them for not sharing on this occasion.

OMD Bertie lad, you were so brave!!! (It's a strange fact that this gal, who loves flying, is not so keen on "sky roads" like this. Something to do with the lack of wings or parachutes or something...) It has to be said, the veiws are definitely a compensation! As for those sundaes... 8~0

  3. That looks like quite an adventure you were on Bertie. We can't believe that nobody shared any of those sundaes with you. The least they could have done was share that little cookie with you.

  4. You really are a high flyer these days Bertie!
What, no ice cream - not even the lick of a spoon? I call that really mean.
Maybe you should go and sit outside the ice cream parlour in protest. Surely someone will buy a handsome doggy like you a cornet!

  5. You'd know that was love from Inca, but the comments box wouldn't let me add it.

  7. OMD x 87 million. Bertie you are for sure a K9 citizen of the World and an adventurer extraordinaire. That cable car had gorgeous views and what a lovely day.
Oh to have an ice cream parlor a stone's throw away is my dream.
    PS
As for where Kat, Pup and Peeps are traveling in their Wheelie house::::::: are you ready
Kaptain Kat is in charge of the destination.
They would love to make it to Oregon (they live in Georgia). But it all depends on Kat.
The peeps have made that trip many times with the Labra Trio.

  8. Don't think we'll ever experience a cable car. It's pretty flat around here and SHE has a fear of heights....but not of ice cream.
