Attempting the impossible

Fellow pups does this ever happen to you?

There you are, out on a walk, happily romping around with your park pals in a carefree manner, when you are called to attention by your camera wielding human (in this case Gail)?

"Oh Bertie, do come over here. I have spotted a great photo opportunity. Look, there are a couple of poppies still out in this wild flower patch. If you stand just here, I think I can get you, the poppies, and that tree in golden leaf in the background which will be a good indicator of the season and thus the remarkableness of the poppy being still in bloom on this Friday morning in late October…"

Have you ever heard such twaddle?

I mean it's obvious right away that Gail is trying to cram too many things into one picture and that her camera will not be able to cope with me in the foreground, a feeble display of nearly expired poppies behind me and a tree somewhere in the distance.

Can you blame me for having no patience with the whole charade?

  1. BIg *sigh* it's something all us pups have to put with isn't it Bertie.
I have to say though, that flora does make a perfect background to show off your handsome furs !
    Loves and licky kisses

  2. Dude we so get it too. Why do they insist on taking that darn flashy beast everywhere? For goodness sake do they not get the fact that it is our walk? Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. So manypictures here too and so often so many repeats. We trust your artistic decisions Bertie

  4. Oh Bertie, we are so with you. Every opportunity is. Photo opportunity over here, especially since that PUPPY arrived.

  5. we soooooooooooooo understand your dilemma Bertie - we have to got thorough this on a daily basis - selective hearing dear pal - don't come when called - unless there is a treat involved :)

  6. Twaddle indeed, Bertie ..... twaddle indeed!!

  7. Good grief...that happens to me all the time too! Ma is like the pupparazzi. I feel for you...though the colors of the leaves and such are very pretty.
    Happy Friday!

  8. Sigh...those humans are always trying to push their "artistic" limits!!!
    Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo

  9. Bertie we need to circulate a petition stating absolutely no flashing beast or posing when a WFT is romping in the park. Sincerely,
    Madi your bfff

  10. Plus it's embarrassing
    Lily & Edward

  11. As long as treats are forthcoming for posing....soooo not our problem. We are in no way responsible for her lack of skills or the quality of the equipment. You want us to stand where? Tilt our heads? Show me the treat in the hand.

  12. Hari OM
Crikey Bertie, that was some mouthful of artisti-speak right enough... But it has to be said that Gail's attempts were not entirely unsuccessful, regardless of your disinterest! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  13. OH yah, I think Jazzi heard that a time or two!!

  14. Those camera happy humans are always cramping our style! We do think the photo is colourful.

  15. Momma listens to me on photo composition, so hers are always grreat! If it's not a good place for a pic, I adjust until it's better.

  16. We think we all need to BAND together to put an END to this sort of nonsense... Like maybe every time they TRY to take a pic like that.... let's all Squat and POOP... THAT might ..just MIGHT work.

  17. It is happening over here like crazy!!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  18. That picture attempt was WAY too complicated. We think the best photos are just of YOU! My mum is the same - always concerned with the background ...

    Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx

  19. I had to put my paw down when she wanted to take a picture of the incision where my toe was amputated! THEY have no common decency!

  20. Wait, Bertie, I does not understand. Gail bribed, er, encouraged you with treats right? If so, then I would has beed there smiling at the camera. If no treats, then I agree, what a silly thing to do!
Glad to see you is feeling lots better from your heroic defence of that poor puppy from the savage tiger. Did you ever decide what story to tell if asked on the train, by the way?
    ~lickies, Ludo!

  21. Fully understand where you are coming from Bertie. We have loads of fun messing about when the dreaded camera comes out.
