What's in a name? (plus bonus training video)

When random people we meet in the park hear that my name is Bertie, they often say:

"Awww, but he looks just like a Bertie".

Have you any idea what they mean?

I would love to know what it is about me that conveys the essence of Bertieness?

On another matter. You know we actually had a couple of warm days in Aberdeen last week? So much so that I had the opportunity to make a video demonstrating how to cool off in the river, WFT style.

You will notice that one keeps one's belly dry. It is all in the nose and beard action.

...hmmm, the moustachios? The centre parting perhaps? Or the gentlemanly manner of water dancing? Definitely a Bertie.

Meanwhile the micro climate of A&B has struck again... hot is not a word that will figure often in reference to Dunoon I fear... so the likelihood of your receiving a video of bellies avoiding water over this way is zero to below! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  7. Bertieness must mean energetic, humorous and handsome. We'll add it to our vocabulary...as in the essence of bertiness. Yeah, that'll work.

We try your river technique, but out legs are too short.

  20. Bertie,
I am pained by your cautious approach to the joys of swimming. Let me tell you that full body emersion is the way to go. Perhaps it is a terrier thing as I am told my Great Grandpa Angus suffered similarly (yes, he looked like an Angus). Then there was the fateful day when he was wading in the wrong patch of lake and discovered that his next step was off an underwater cliff and he vanished into the deep. Fear not, wiry fur aids buoyancy and he was quite fine, albeit rather abashed upon his return to shore.

    Kisses,
    Dexter

  21. Bertie you river looks so clean and clear. My river does not look that way. Now for your name, well I am thinking it is a boys name, you are a boy. Bertie means bright, well we know you are a thinker. And it can mean famous, are you famous well YES!
    Thanks for being a friend
