Well since my recall is good (and not just in the dog obedience sense), I can also tell you that at the time Gail said this:
“But Bertie, dogs don’t get invited to weddings”.
Always, in my mind, there was a grain of doubt about the truth of that statement.
And as usual, my instinct was correct.
You know my wire-haired fox terrier friend Horatio don't you? The one who lives in Edinburgh with his humans Scott and Amanda and his Vizsla brother Harris.
Well look what we spotted this week on Amanda's occasional blog:
Scott and Amanda's Wedding Party |
She and Scott only went and got themselves married. And yes you read that right on the photo:
'WEDDING PARTY INCLUDING DOGS'
You can see the full report on the occasion if you click here.
You know, for once, Gail and I are in perfect agreement that this looks like the best wedding ever! Our favourite touch being the tweed bow ties for Horatio and Harris.
We are sure our readers will join us in wishing Scott and Amanda a long and happy life together.
Congrats to dem! And dey have da right idea to - invitin da puppers.
ReplyDeleteBertie, you've got to keep on your toes...and keep your wits about you. Gail, like HER, makes stuff up ALL THE TIME not to include us. We hope you tell Horatio next time you meet between trains. It's disgraceful...
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Bella & Roxy
How exciting Bertie you featured our wedding!! To be honest though, Horatio found the whole thing a bit boring. By way of 'demonstration' he promptly lost his tweed bow tie on the walk from the pub in Threlkeld to Keswick! Any readers fancying a free bow tie might like to dander down the old railway walk with their eyes peeled....
ReplyDeleteBertie - Will you be getting a bow tie to go with your jumper ?
ReplyDeletePawsome to invite the four legged furends too Bertie. We wish them well. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Bertie, check out the sparhawk scotties blog, their scotties even got to go inside the church !
ReplyDeleteBRAVO FOR SCOTT AND AMANDA!!! WHAT A HANDSOME WEDDING PARTY. BERTIE EVERY SUNDAY OUR NEWSPAPER HAS WEDDINGS AND ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT. ONCE MOM SAW A LOVELY DOG SITTING WITH THE BRIDE AND GROOM TOO. NEXT TIME IS SAY YOU GO TO THE WEDDING
ReplyDeleteHUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
We are in favor of dogs at weddings too! Not that there are any gonna happen around here, but we would expect an invitation for sure!
ReplyDeletegus n teka
Everyone all says dogs are part of the family so YES - they should be included in weddings :)
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS and BEST WISHES to the happy couple... BUTT we wonder Why YOU were not invited.
ReplyDeleteWhat a grreat wedding!! I'm still in deep depression that my Boy got married and didn't have me as ring dog. My uncle is getting married this fall, so I'm hoping HE recognizes the impawtance of having furry members of the wedding party. For, um, luck or something.
ReplyDeleteHow could Gail do that to you, her bestest buddie, thats just not right. Hope the happy couple is always that way!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Great idea-- and what a wunderfur wedding... just the folks and pups who matter most-- not one of those huge overblown things! Best of wishes to the happy couple!
ReplyDeleteYou has been nominated for a Liebster Award - check out my blog for da details: http://whitleywestie.blogspot.com/2014/03/liebster-award.html
ReplyDeleteCrikey my cousin Murphy was the ring bearer at my two legged sisters wedding. I was a guest. It was the BEST day ever, Bertie. Best wishes to Scott and Amanda!
ReplyDeleteOh Bertie you are so right many wedding now include doggies! Tubby attended mom and dad's wedding 13 years ago in spirit, he was a wedding gift and they had just picked him out form the breeder and had a photo. Mom is always jealous of other weddings were dogs played prominent roles. Im sure you attended in Gail's heart
ReplyDeleteretro rover
