On weddings and dogs...

Do you remember me complaining last year when Gail attended a wedding in a romantic Scottish castle and I was not invited?

Well since my recall is good (and not just in the dog obedience sense), I can also tell you that at the time Gail said this:

“But Bertie, dogs don’t get invited to weddings”.

Always, in my mind, there was a grain of doubt about the truth of that statement.

And as usual, my instinct was correct.

You know my wire-haired fox terrier friend Horatio don't you? The one who lives in Edinburgh with his humans Scott and Amanda and his Vizsla brother Harris.

Well look what we spotted this week on Amanda's occasional blog:

Scott and Amanda's Wedding Party

She and Scott only went and got themselves married. And yes you read that right on the photo:

'WEDDING PARTY INCLUDING DOGS'

You can see the full report on the occasion if you click here.

You know, for once, Gail and I are in perfect agreement that this looks like the best wedding ever! Our favourite touch being the tweed bow ties for Horatio and Harris.

We are sure our readers will join us in wishing Scott and Amanda a long and happy life together.

  2. Bertie, you've got to keep on your toes...and keep your wits about you. Gail, like HER, makes stuff up ALL THE TIME not to include us. We hope you tell Horatio next time you meet between trains. It's disgraceful...

  3. How exciting Bertie you featured our wedding!! To be honest though, Horatio found the whole thing a bit boring. By way of 'demonstration' he promptly lost his tweed bow tie on the walk from the pub in Threlkeld to Keswick! Any readers fancying a free bow tie might like to dander down the old railway walk with their eyes peeled....

  11. What a grreat wedding!! I'm still in deep depression that my Boy got married and didn't have me as ring dog. My uncle is getting married this fall, so I'm hoping HE recognizes the impawtance of having furry members of the wedding party. For, um, luck or something.

  16. Oh Bertie you are so right many wedding now include doggies! Tubby attended mom and dad's wedding 13 years ago in spirit, he was a wedding gift and they had just picked him out form the breeder and had a photo. Mom is always jealous of other weddings were dogs played prominent roles. Im sure you attended in Gail's heart
