Maybe mountain bikers aren't so bad after all...

So I was about to jump in the back of the Mini after my latest agility competition adventure, when two passing - and agreeably muddy - mountain bikers, father and son, clocked my handsome self and stopped by for a chat with Gail.

Turns out they have a two year old foxy, from Granddach Kennels like me, and had observed that I was the spit of their wee fellow, Bob. As was confirmed when father asked son to show us Bob's picture on his iPhone.

Then father gave me a nice belly rub and complimented me on my lean and muscular physique (yes really), while Gail looked proudly on. To be honest, I was quite pleased at this point not to be wearing my birthday jumper, as these mountain bikers just possibly might not have recognised said sweater for the manly garment that you and I know it to be…

Oh and did I mention I won two more rosettes at the agility show?

  1. Oh Bertie! How handsome you are and your new sweater suits your trim physique. Horatio is so jealous he insisted on a visit to Podgey Paws in Keswick last week so we could purchase him a jumper too.... He's now rocking the Jean-Paul Sartre look in a fleecy black polo neck!

  18. Must say, Bertie, that jumper has come in VERY handy.

We're sure you stop people all the time. How amazing that you found peeps who have a relative of yours.

In the comments about Daisy, we found a reader who NEVER comments who said she had a pup with the same Kennel name as Daisy's...though a westie..we're sure they came from the same place.

  23. Wow... more rosettes? Wotten waven!

We feel ambivalent about mountain bikers. Most of them are nice people, but a few are completely insane. We have a zero risk protocol in place and I always get picked up in their presence. That's because a good number of Swiss mountain bikers are retirees and we don't trust their waning eyesight.
