I am very worried about Gail....

Most mornings, on our way back from the park, we stop at the paper shop. Gail leaves me tied up to a railing, goes in to buy her newspaper and then gives me a little reward for waiting outside quietly.

Only yesterday..

She tried to pay for her Guardian with a dog biscuit......

  1. We can see why you are worried Bertie.
Giving away your bikkies is far more serious concern than Gail trying to differentiate between coins and dog food!

  2. Are you sure it's morning? Looks like the middle of the night. Maybe Gail was just tired. BUT, if it happens again, could be serious.

There is much soul searching here in the news about the abismal Aussie Cricket team!

  3. Do you think she was sleep walking with you Bertie? Or do you think she needs new specs?
And more importantly - did she get a copy of Your Dog instead of the Guardian? ;) xx

  4. We would really worry if some of those coins turn up in your bowl instead of the kibble!!! Be on the alert, OK?

  5. I think this is relatively normal behavior, unfortunately. No doubt you are familiar with the coins instead of cookies as well. Sigh.

  6. Humans - they're all the same! But at least they have the treats in their pockets!

  7. Sad to say it's happened to our DOHs too...only they tried giving us coins instead of the other way around. Sometimes we've just got to remind them to get it right I guess! Heres to hoping no more biscuits get needlessly wasted trying to pay for a paper!

  9. There is no shame in seeking professional help for ones pawrents. Simply sit Gail down and have an intervention. Make her hand over the cookie box and you take charge of paying for purchases.

We had no idea how desperate your situation truly is...

  10. This is nothing to worry about Bertie.
Humans who have dogs become, well strange!
They usually have dog biscuits in their pockets not to mention poo bags.
As long as she remembers to collect you when she comes out of the shop.
We ourselves have never quite got the hang of waiting outside of shops patiently so we do admire you.
Our human brother however was once left outside a shop in his pram - he was abandoned! Yes it seems she clean forgot about him and walked hom!!!!!!!!!
So remember you may have to woof quite insistently if you see Gail beginning to wander off......
    lots of love

  11. Perhaps Gail knew her paper vendor had a dog who was more than happy to swap a paper for some biscuits!

    You don't know everything, Bertie!

Another thing....you said she buys her paper in the 'morning'...but it's dark? I guess we live closer to the sun!!! (Another great reason to emigrate here!...I'm getting your dog bed ready!)

  19. Bertie....maybe you should go into the shop with her to keep her right? or alternatively you could take charge of your biscuits?

At least she tried to pay with a biscuit and not a poopie bag!
