Nice people and broken dog flaps

I am just taking a wee break from intensive preparations for next Monday's canine science lecture (it's Quantum Physics - you need to be there....) in order to tell you about a couple of my extra specially nice human friends.

First and foremost is Marie-Thérèse, who lives with us here in Gail's home while she is writing up her PhD thesis, and is, much more importantly, chief purveyor of absolutely the best cuddles going. She doesn't want me to show her face (although it is a very agreeable one) but I think you get the idea.

Secondly there is Clare, who loves to play, and always ignores Gail when she says "oh don't wind him up that's the last thing we need!" On Sunday she left me a great new toy. It was meant for me, wasn't it Clare?

(In case you are wondering, the fragments you see dimly on the far right of the photo above are the chewed remains of my dog flap. A new one has been ordered, meanwhile it is a little cold and breezy in our 'conservatory', although that doesn't matter 'cos the few plants are all dead anyway, some humans just have brown fingers I guess...)

Well that's all I have time for today. Of course I have lots more friends and and I'll tell you about them in some future post. Meanwhile, back to the physics equations. See you on Monday!

  3. Bertie is there a beastie in your neighbourhood who eats doors? WE know for certain it couldn't possibly have been you. You are a good boy.

  4. It is ever so important to have friends to spoil you as moms can be very stern and humorless at times.

  5. What lovely friends you have, Bertie. I bet they feel lucky to have you as a friend, too. A doggy who is good at cuddles AND who knows quantum physics is just all too hard to find.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  6. THat is a really good friend... How about her books? Did she leave you any of those to chew on I mean read?? Listen we just caught up on all your posts.. I thought Archie gave you the birds and bees lecture thing.. He did didn't he? (although I don't know why he is giving it he is not exactly the smartest in that area...) Call me on my cell and let me know.. Love A+A PS I am all ready for Monday's lecture and have prepared a side lecture to help you along... It is called,How to deal with a brother who is a crazy man. 9. Dear Bertie,

Is the particle like apperance of your dog door anything to do with your lecture next week? Did you use the Flora (internally or externally) in an attempt to accelerate yourself beyond maximum speed to create your very own black hole? Was this your version of the Swiss Hadron experiment? Did you try to eat the evidence or was Schroedinger's hypothetical cat involved?

So many questions, but seeing you floored on the floor with the Flora I'm curious to know exactly what you've been up to while Gail is out. No doubt all will be explained on Monday.

    See you then,
    Riley

  10. Yooohoooo Bertie my boy! Here I am ahh and there you are just like your Uncle... a right little scamp. I love them tubs, full or not. Proper lovely for tearing to pieces eh Bertie much like yogurt pots. I urge you to try 'em too. No. Scrub that. Insisi you try it.

And tearing up the dog flap. Of course that's perfectly permissable you poor boy.Are those pearly white pegs troubling you as they come through? You need some nice chew toys and an icy smoothie every hour to soothe those painful gums. I'll get Lacie onto it double quick. Meantime I'm sending up a bottle of the hard stuff. Slug it back. It'll numb everything. Paws crossed the lecture about the Kittie in The Box. Though think you may have that wrong. It's the Cat In the Hat Bertie I'm sure of it.

Wiry love your Uncle Eric xxx

Pee S. Paws up Bertie. Nice work Bertie. I'm proud as punch.

  11. We hope you've invited some American doggies to your lecture, as we are apparently very bad in math and need to soak up your wisdom. We mean some other American doggies, of course; the subject would bore us, we expect, even if we could undertand it, which is doubtful.

We have a doggie door, too. We usually just break it by running in & out so fast and slamming into the flaps that the plastic parts break. Then mama says some HBO words while she takes it apart to replace the broken flap. We hadn't considered chewing it up for a little variety. Thanks for the idea.

  13. Good friends is always good. That why I like TNP. Did you really chew up your dog flap, or did some other dog sneak in and do it? ;)
    Impressive, anyways.

  14. Hey there Bertie Buddy...
I see you are getting up to mischief too...great going! Sorry I'm so late in this comment, but I've been V Busy - causing chaos and preparing for your lecture. Maxmom said I must pop by to ask you to congratulate Gail on Scotland's win!...but what's rugby, Bertie?
Anyways, you be naughty now...catch you on your next post.
