Gosh our humans sometimes get all worked up about not very much, don't they?
So OK, I'll concede I might have been acting a bit strangely earlier this week, although I would dispute Gail's claims that I was "totally out of it" and "staggering around like a drunken zombie".
Anyway, despite the fact that by yesterday I was feeling a whole lot livelier and no longer nauseous, Gail took me to visit my nice Spanish vet Mar. (Well she's nice when she's not sticking things up my bum.)
After examining me carefully - weight, temperature, heart, abdomen, eyes, the rear end business etc. - and reviewing my urine analysis results and her notes on how my condition has evolved since the bladder tumour (TCC) diagnosis last September, Mar pronounced the following verdict:
"He eez doing AMAZING!"
So to all my dear friends who expressed concern after reading Gail's post yesterday, I just want to say Thank You and Panic Over.
Oh, Bertie, that eez indeed good news!
ReplyDeleteBertie... have you heard that big bang? twas da rock what fell down from our heart.... we are so glad that you got such fab news!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have to understand that you have many friends from all over the world and you have touched many hearts and we are all concerned about your health. From all of us, I am so glad to learn that you are feeling much better. Love the three bestest maremmas in all the land.
ReplyDeleteOh Bertie! I'm so relieved you were "just kidding" and are feeling better. You scared us! Gail, I wonder if Bertie's problem might have been as simple as eating something that disagreed with him? That certainly has given us a couple of scares with our old Goldie. After the last scare, the vet gave Matt some pain killers to give her if he thought she was struggling, and one did help a couple of days ago.
ReplyDeleteGail replies: Thank you for your kind comment Virginia. That Bertie ate something in the bushes that he shouldn't have now seems the most likely explanation for this week's 'episode', although I'd never seen him quite so knocked out by previous stomach upsets. A sign of his overall weakening condition I suspect. Bertie is already on two different types of medication - anti-inflammatory and pain killing - and I would be reluctant to add more.
DeleteDear Sir Bertie,
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad! You are AMAZING!!!
Who's your Weimeraner friend? He looks a bit like Tootsie's fur-brother Truffle, even though he's a much lighter shade of brown.
Love
The Spirit of Tootsie Team
Gail replies: Thank you Team Tootsie. We do not know the Weimeraner, who we think was looking rather furtive.
DeleteOh Bertie, my human was almost afraid to read your blog this morning.
ReplyDeleteUsually Gail posts on Sophie's blog just before we do, and when there wasn't anything from her this morning we were very worried. We are so glad to hear that your tummy upset was just a blip, and that you are feeling so much better.
Take care - we oldies sometimes have to slow down a bit, so that our humans can keep up!
Love,
Inca xx

ReplyDeleteOoh yes, I noticed the Weim-dog too... Well Bertie, I think you just wanted some attention from the young Spanish lady. But you need to think of Gail's wellbeing too - her heart may have lost a week or two's worth of beating from the early-week events! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Yay! What wonderful news to wake up to, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy and i am so silly, I got tears when you were ill and tears when you are doing amazing! sooooo happy for both of you. oh my, if that dog was a little bigger he could be one of our favorite Weims
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BERTIE MY FINE WFT FRIEND THAT LOUD NOISE YOU JUST HEARD WAS STANDING OVATION AND STOMPING OF FEET OVER THERE. What wonderful news. In Gail's defense,I would have been in a bit of a panic too.

That "eez" great news, Bertie. We thought for a minute you ran into Phenny or Nellie at the vet too.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're doing better! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteWhew, thank goodness you're better today!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're much improved Bertie. I myself have been suffering from a very nasty tummy bug all this week (and milking it, of course) so maybe we wfty's are picking something up? Hope you continue to do well, dear friend. xx
ReplyDeleteGood for you! We know then prayers helped but you are the rock star.
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved. I feel better after reading this.
ReplyDeleteWe wonder what it was! But sooooooo happy that you are feeling better Bertie! What a relief! (Redford was feeling under the weather this week too, but maybe he was just too nervous about the 4th of july fireworks here in the states!)
