Freedom Friday !!!

M and J bursting through the gorse bushes in Warren Wood

Gosh I have exciting news this week!

On Tuesday the Scottish government announced that they are, as of today and ten days ahead of the the previously announced schedule, relaxing the ban on venturing more than five miles from one's local authority (in our case Aberdeen City) boundary.

So far this year, we've had to content ourselves with gazing on mountains from afar while sticking to our local area.

But as of today, we can go ANYWHERE IN SCOTLAND!

More exciting adventures to come for sure.

Oh and also, next week Gail will be getting her first professional haircut in six months, and there will be no more danger of her being mistaken for a Highland Coo...

The bad news is that ever since Tuesday's announcement Gail has been singing this song.

And believe me, Gail singing is always a regrettable occurrence.

Happy Nature Friday friends, and thanks once again to our LLB Gang friends for hosting this our favourite blog hop.

  1. Wow, Bertie -that's very good news! You'll be able to go to Torridon again, and show us lots more beautiful scenery, and the sea-side, and the mountains, and take lots of lovely photos everywhere. So many things for us all to look forward to!
You are a very lucky boy with so much to look forward to. My human is muttering about remembering to phone the vet to make an appointment for my first shot of the season! I just hope I get some treats afterwards, if I'm a good girl!

    Love,
    Inca xx

  3. SO HAPPPY FOR YOU BOTH... happy Freedom Friday.. yay for the hair cut, and I love the way the Coo looks. My hair cut is kind of like the coo, but I like it that way... can't wait to see the first adventure. about that view. it is stunning and we have no views at all, just miles and miles of houses and trees and flat like a pancake... there are views at the beaches but tourist make them hard to get to.

Big smiles for you here... but Bertie lad, remember that yourself and Gail may need to be on the alert for all those 'weekenders' who haven't walked more than a mile in over a year and suddenly think they can climb Ben Etive in an hour!!! (The rescue teams were putting out a plea on last night's news - "gang steady youse lot"). Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

    2. Gail says: Olive and Mabel have provided the best laughs of the pandemic, and also reminded me of one reason why I like my hairdresser so much. He never asks me where I am going on my holiday!

    3. We've been watching Olive and Mabel too - they are so funny. My human has even subscribed, and most unlike her to do that.

  5. How great that you and Gail will be able to go farther for you hikes. We bet you will be high tailing it over to your cottage to see how the construction is coming along.

  6. Bertie 2 standing ovations for you and Gail,
High 5's and woohoo on the haircut. Actually I kinda like the Highland Cowcut and especially the color. I've always loved auburn hair.
Think by Aretha...is a good choice and I think The Hills are alive with the Sound of Music should be playing when you head to the hills.

  9. You can go anywhere in Massachusetts but it's not as cool an idea as going anywhere in Scotland. No one celebrates going to Fall River.

    1. Gail had never heard of Fall River but is now very curious about what sort of a place it is!

  10. We are glad that you can now get out and about. We live in the mountains in British Columbia (in the middle of nowhere) so there are great spots to get away and have a great ramble here! Even with the Covid lockdowns and We know how happy Gail must be! Our Mom did a happy dance when she could go and get her hairs cut! We hope you all have a marvellously happy day!
