A weekend search for sunshine

I checked in the park.

I hunted in the woods.

I climbed a hill to look.

I visited the beach.

I went down to the river, and caught a fleeting glimpse.

Then I kept watch at the window, but it was back to greyness.

Only in my dreams the skies were clear and the sun shone long and bright.

  1. Bertie, if your dreams go far enough there was lots of sunshine in New Zealand today for you to enjoy! Also, thank you to you and Gail for your kind words about Riley crossing the rainbow bridge recently.

    1. Gail says: The tower, on Scolty Hill, is a monument to General William Burnett, a local landowner who fought alongside Wellington in the Napoleonic Wars.

  5. Bertie, do you think if I huffed and puffed hard enough, and you stood with your arms open, I could send you some of our glorious sunshine to catch?
We have blue skies and lots of sunny days right now, but we expect it won't be long before my human has to turn the heating on. She hasn't got a fur coat like we doggies have!

    Love,

Thank you for your kind wishes for my periodontal visit. Everything went according to plan. No dicing, slicing or stitches.
He did what he called 'shaving' to tighten up the gum around the tooth. I go back on Nov 2, for recheck BUT NO MORE procedures.
I'm on a soft diet til Thursday. I MUST eat I Scream too. Hugs Cecilia

  11. You looked everywhere. The sun hasn't been here in a couple of days either. Must be near the equator or something. But we agree with the above comment.

  12. At least you had fun on your search AND met some nice peeps:) We haven't seen the sun since Friday either. Lots of wind and dirt blowing around and now cold temps.

  16. Oh Bertie - I hope that the sun has shined every day since then. Your countryside is gorgeous and you are so handsome regardless of the sunshine.

  17. thank you for my visit to your home town in Scotland, it looks just like I thought it would. are you close to Urguhart Castle Ruins? my great grandfather was Thomas Urguhart and we think distantly connected. I am counting Beaus flaw as my extra excercise steps, each time he goes in the yard i have to go follow him to get the poo before he does...

    1. Gail replies: Here in Aberdeen we are over a hundred miles away from Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness. I've never taken Bertie there, but it occurs to me I really should!
