What we are missing

While still confined to a limited radius around Aberdeen, we learn this week that in Scotland's mountainous, boggy areas, the cottongrass has been having a ball.

When Gail and I saw these photos on the BBC website a couple of days ago, we were sorely tempted to ignore all the rules and head for the hills... (but resisted the temptation).

Happy Nature Friday!

Oh I remember this stuff from when I was a wee lass and we had family holidays up by Invergordon - and dad loved to go where the cotton grass grew, because there was almost certainly blaeberry bushes too!!! (Plus midges. Let's not forget them.) Hugs and wags, YAM-auntuy xxx

  3. OMDs Bertie are those cotton balls? What a pretty display. I hear you on the restlessness we have been able to go to trails etc but that is mainly because there are so many in our County so it is easy to stay distanced.

OH DEAR ME AS OF TODAY MASKS ARE MANDATORY IN Raleigh and many surrounding cities. Any time you are not in your home. They can be removed to eat whew!! And if you can social distances outside but otherwise you wear them. Dad of Angel Madi is NOT HAPPY.

  5. If Dominic Cummings can do it...….
I think cotton grass is what I've been fighting with in the garden! Looks good from a distance.
