Preparing for re-entry

As of today, we in Scotland are allowed, for the first time in over two months, to meet up with people from one other household for outdoor, socially distanced exercise.

In preparation for the forthcoming hectic social whirl, Gail has been busy this week giving me a summer strip and clip. I must say that the lamb bone I received (see previous post) greatly facilitated the smooth running of this operation.

I think you'll agree I'm looking pretty spiffy.

But Gail is now a bit peeved because, despite her considerable efforts, one of our more gossipy neighbours (not the one who gave me the lamb bone) made this unsolicited comment.

"Oh I always like the way you leave Bertie's coat natural and don't have him all groomed to the nth degree".

Fortunately for good relations in our street, it was only when we moved on that Gail started muttering under her breath about "if only she knew how much time I spend keeping you looking so 'natural'!"

By the way, Mrs Neighbour, this is what a 'natural' fox terrier coat looks like...

PS I regret to report that Gail's haircut situation is becoming increasingly desperate ...

  1. pee on his doormat, you look fantabulous!!!

  2. Well.....we think you look spiffy, too. And not at all like that natural WFT. We think if no one notices you've been groomed, then it is a good job. Hope Gail can be groomed soon.

  3. BOL, yeah, terrier grooming ain't for lazy peeps. I just endured an hour and a half of stripping and face trimming.

  4. You look as handsome as ever, Bertie! Gail did a fabulous job!

  5. Hari OM
Bertie lad, you are one of the spiffiest dogs I have ever known - both stripped and in your fuller 'natural' state!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  6. You look fabulous Bertie and we know Gail does great work to keep you looking so good. Our mom is suffering from lack of a hair trim too.

  7. It's just like humans ladies with makeup -- it takes a lot of work to pull off a natural look!

  8. Bertie....what can I say except there is no accounting for some peeps taste or unsolicited opinions. Purrsonally I have never EVER no never seen you looking any less than a well groomed and stately WFT. As for Gail...Has she taken the strippers to her fringe yet?

    1. It can only be a matter of days before she cracks....

  9. Bertie, our resident canine is a Rough Collie. Grooming his fluffy bits are nightmare.

He made it to the Grooming salon yesterday. Curbside pick up and drop off

  10. Yioyu are looking so very handsome Bertie...Gail's efforts have definitely paid off!!

  11. We think Gail always does a magnificent job of keeping you looking pawesome. Have you offered to return the favor? BOL!!! Mom and Dad made their way to haircuts last week, and thankfully all went well with some great precautions in place.

  12. You look fabulous. Enjoy meeting friends new and old.

  13. Bertie, you look so beautifully groomed - they should use your photo on the internet! Just to show everyone what a really spiffy WFT looks like.

  14. Oh Bertie, I feels your pain my furiend. Gail does a MUCH better job on your furs than Ma does on mine. Ma wants to leave me with the longer furs, butts she says my skin needs to breathe. I don't knows what that means, butts I would SO rather have your furs than go through the danger of Ma's clippers! Plus, you look TONS nicer!

  15. You look absolutely fabulous, Bertie! It is a testament to Gail's talents that you look "natural". Have fun going out with friends again!

  16. You look so handsome Bertie! Us girls are swooning over there!
