Oh gosh Gail, I see you have a new pair of socks. And might I say, what an excellent design. I'm guessing they were a gift?
Your guess is spot on Bertie. A Christmas present from my friends John and Françoise in fact. Wasn't that thoughtful of them? The are super comfortable too, being made from a blend of cotton and bamboo.
Bamboo! But Gail, that is what giant pandas eat, is it not? Oh no, I'm so worried! What if you ran into a panda and it attacked you for your socks? Just think, Tian Tian and Yang Guang in Edinburgh Zoo might at any time escape and head north, and they would obviously be very hungry after rampaging up the (bamboo free) A90 for over a hundred miles...
Right, as always, Bertie!
we love the names you picked for your toys!! the mama named her plush monkey Fred, her uncle fred was not amused LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Bertie they are most wonderful socks...I bought a few pair from Clark's a shoe store.
ReplyDeleteSis of Angel Madi had a stuffed giant panda named Biggy and a Koala named Poppy (and she still has them)
As for Panda...ummmm...I think maybe could use a new pair of socks.
Hugs Cecilia
PS Very nice to see a photo of Hamish holding court over the house and I love that clock

ReplyDeleteWhat smart socks indeed. Fret not Bertie lad, I am certain the pandas in Edinburgh get sufficient supplies of edible bamboo to prevent them sniffing out Gail's footcloths!!!
As long as efurrybuddy knows who they are, what's in a name..? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Well Bertie - you surely put Gail in her place! You told her! Next time she'll choose something more adventurous to call her toys.
ReplyDeleteBut hang on, she might have given you a really awful name - something totally unsuited to the handsome Bertie we all know and love. She might have called you Babykins or Smoochi or - well there are lots of really terrible names out there!
We do love those socks though!
Love,
Inca xx
To be honest Inca, I consider myself fortunate not to have been christened 'Dog'!
DeleteThose sure are cute socks. We think little Panda is in great shape too. How lucky to have a cherished friend from childhood still with you.
ReplyDeleteHow special for Gail to have her childhood panda and he looks in pretty good shape to us! Love the socks!
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope Gail knows just how lucky she is to have you always looking out for her best interests...and her choice of names ;-)

You know, Bertie, I was recently reflecting on the, ahem, lack of imagination, or perhaps simple accuracy in naming my toddler toys: Brownie Bear (he was brown), Bruin (she was pink), Miss Kitty, Floppy Dog (with long ears). On their honeymoon, my parents went to Montreal, where they acquired Jacques (Bear). Apparently, creativity was reserved for adult toys! Thanks for an enjoyable post, as always./Fay, cardis3, SPoo
ReplyDeleteHER generic scottie socks have holes in them now, they're so old. Hope the bamboo wears well. Great design.
ReplyDeleteWe see Hamish on the mantlepiece as well!!
Those socks are very nice, but we have a sock thief here - Misty just LOVES to snitch the clean or dirty socks from the laundry basket:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
That your childhood friend has a prominent place on your mantel shows what a good mom you are.
ReplyDeleteOMD, those are FABulous socks!!!! And, Ma loves the PANDAS!!! she is nutty abouts them, and thinks Gail's Panda is adorables! Ma also sucks at namin' of the stuffies....
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
I love those socks!!!!!! And I'm glad that Gail was more creative when she named *you* Bertie!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you have your childhood teddy. I remember mine, although I don't have it anymore.
ReplyDeleteSocks Gail got Socks why Lee loves socks with Scots on them.
