Continuing on the theme of human stupidity

So first of all she tried to take some 'cute' photos of me sitting in the Duthie Park horse trough.

I ask you. I was not impressed. I suppose I should be grateful, at least, that the trough was empty.

We continued round the park…

...then she decided to take some photos of the recent outbreak of 'guano' by the boat pond.

What fun! For sure my readers would like to see me rolling in it…

Oh. Apparently, judging by all the shrieking, this is not what Gail had in mind.  (It seems she was wanting to make a pictorial point about the unfairness of dogs taking all the blame for fouling the park.)

PS Don't forget to enter the 'Darwin-lite Award' competition. Click here for details.

PPS You may be wondering why I am wearing a wee black boot. It's 'cos I have a horrid interdigital cyst which just won't go away. I've been to the vet three times and have been taking antibiotics for weeks. We are trying hard to keep it clean and dry and covered. It was hurting me, but not so much now the infection seems to have cleared up.  I'm sure Gail would appreciate any sensible and practical (and scientifically based!) advice on how to deal with this problem.

  1. We sure hope you didn't have to have a bath after all that luscious poop rolling. We also hope you foot heals up - and wearing a boot isn't so bad - I wear two of them when ever we go walkies :)

    1. Hey Reilly, thinking about how you look good in your boots has made me feel less bad about the whole thing.

  2. Oh really Bertie... rolling around like that. I'm sure that your intentions were purely scientific but even so...
The little boot looks rather cute and I'm sure will be successful in drawing all kinds of oohs and aahs from worried passers by. Milk it for all it's worth!

  3. OMDs Bertie....that is one fine looking watering trough much bigger than my itty bitty Fresh flow fountain in which my ample kitty tush would not fit.
Ouch your poor little paw. Is that the same paw that you had an ouchie on some time ago? I wounder if it is similar to Athlete's foot that human's get when their feets stay damp too long. I know it would surely be hard to keep your feets dry in Scotland.
    Hugs madi your bfff
PS we are looking forward to Darwin Lite...

  4. pheeew, how good that there was no water inside... Bertie that was an heroic experiment to roll around in that guano... the people use it as manure... and please don't be afraid if you wake up tomorrow as big as an airedale terrier... wow I would like to see the faces of the kennel club guys when you invented a brand new breed that way :o)

  5. First she wants a photo with you and the bird poop and THEN you are not allowed to roll in it? It really doesn't seem fair!

Hope your foot feels better soon.

OMDness Bertie lad, that sure is a load of.....manure... and really... expecting you NOT to max the opportunity? What is Gail thinking?!

I was zooming the piccie when I saw your paw - before I read your double pee ess about it; goodness me that is annoying for you and, I am sure, worrisome for Gail. Seems you may have started to get it under control though and if wearing some Meeky Jack-style pawgear is going to help, keep on doing it! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  8. I, Roxy, got in BIG trouble Saturday morning for doing a bit of...um....aroma therapy like that! (And a cold water bath afterwards....)

Sorry about your foot. We think you shouldn't be dunked in cold creeks for awhile.....

  11. Howdy Bertie. The best advice I can give is "Don't chew ya toes off mate" it'll make Gail freak out. Glad you got to roll in some stinky stuff! No worries and slobbery love Rory and Stella

Guano = Heaven. Whether rolled in or digested.

  13. Why guano sounds so much better than saying excrements, crap or just sh**. You need what they use around here, it is a solar powered light that flashes at night an amber beam of light directed at goose eye-level in a 360° radius. We have no guano where it is used. they should fill that trough for baths before you leave the park. For the dear God who loveth us,
    He made and loveth all.”

  14. Oh your poor feet! We had a similar issue with our angel Norbert when he was young that just would not go away. Sadly it just took months!
