"Why the long face, Bertie?"

I hear this question too often. I think it is supposed to be some sort of a joke.

Like the way people will look at me and say "oh I used to have one of those, with wheels on"....

Of course, regular readers will realise that the 'long face' thing merely pertains to the shape of my head.  That I am the happiest, bounciest little chappie you could hope to meet should be clear from these photos from Sunday's outing to Millstone Hill and Paradise Wood, where it was so nice and sunny I even ventured into the river Don for a wee paddle, voluntarily...

I kept my back dry and my paws on terra firma, mind.
Oh and Happy 4th July to all my American friends!

  1. Bertie - You'll never believe this but when I was two I used to have a wee 'Bertie lookalike' duggie on wheels . Until now I'd forgotten all about him !

  2. That's the way we paddle, too. We never go in where we can't stand....at least not intentially.

We love your smiley face in the last photo.

  7. Folks could just as well said "Why the square face, Bertie?"

Thank you for the 4th of July wishes Our public radio (NPR)always starts off the 4th by reading the Declaration of Independence in its entirety -- and it's always thrilling to hear. Hard to imagine such focus nowadays.

  9. Hey Bertie:

Just be a good sport about the long face jokes and show people that you like having fun with them! What else can you do?

Thanks for the Independence Day wishes, Bertie, I wish it was over. I hate the noise and firecrackers!

    Kisses,

  13. hey Bertie,

BOL! What a funny joke! I never heard that one! I know it is not funny to you, just annoying, but you have to admit it is clever. :->

You jogged my human's memory about little doggies like you on wheels. I think that makes you somewhat famous!

Love your outdoor pictures! What fun you have! The first picture is especially my favorite. You look so incredibly happy! Wish you could come and play with me!

p.s. Thanks for the July 4th wishes!

  19. You are so lovely, and we would never have mentioned it if you hadn't....but the LOTH used to have a dog just like you on wheels with a big red handle on it. It helped her learn to walk and she loved that doggy very much.

    Love and licks, Winnie

  21. Gosh. July 4th has come and gone and WE'VE MISSED SO MUCH! But we're working at catching up ...

From Florida ... remind us to tell ya about the time we got OUR paws wet, only to have a little visitor come to see where we'd just been only moments before.

    With that, we're movin' on.
    More later,
    Jake and Fergs
