In search of the fairy toadstool...

N.B. I want to reassure you, that I, Bouncing Bertie Boffin, Scientific Advisor to Blogville etc. etc., have identified the specimen of fungus in the photo above as a 'fly agaric', more formally Amanita muscaria, of the phylum Basidiomycota. This type of toadstool is known to contain psychoactive substances, which may explain (scientifically of course) its cultural association with fairies and such like!

  1. Gee.....My smart guy...I knew you'd find it!!

  2. That was a fantastic description of the of that Toadstool...of course, it went right over our heads, but we're sure you're correct. Now, did you catch a fairy?

  3. Hari OM
WTG Bertie Lad - that was a fine expedition! Your new header is a pawfect pawtrait of you too. Give Gail a biscuit for that one... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. Now if you had a ring of them you would have had all kinds of special things happening

  5. What a cool find! Hope you got a treat
    Peace baby

  6. So Bertie, did you, ah, try out the psychoactive properties of the mushroom? For purely scientific reasons, of course.

  7. Oh do be careful Bertie, we kind of have an aversion to mushrooms although we know not all are bad. Lovely hike!

Mom asked her how in the world she ended up on the Island. She told mom she married a very nice North Carolina Boy!! She has a two yo son. She told mom
her son had the most amazing combination of Southern USA and Scottish accent!!

  12. Wow, you two sure know your science! It is rather magnificent looking isn't it? We got your message about Bryce Canyon. Have you ever heard of it before? It is so beautiful we will take lots of photos!

    Your Pals,

  13. Is that a hallucinogen mushroom? Why with the fairy an all something must be happening RIGHT.
    Thanks for being a friend
