Pity those walkers expecting a quiet and tranquil Sunday morning stroll in Tyrebagger Wood...
But gosh, I'd been looking forward for ages to attending another meeting of the Aberdeenshire wire-haired fox terrier group.
I was not disappointed.
We assembled 11:00 am sharp in the car park.
In total, eight foxies showed up. Newcomer Ollie (sixteen weeks old) looked a little apprehensive at first,
but he soon got into the spirit of things.
I renewed acquaintance with pretty Meriel (we compared notes on neckerchief fashion).
Peanut, Stan and I were momentarily distracted by an interesting message in the ferns...
But we were 'encouraged' to rejoin the group.
Soon Pickles was in disgrace after a foray into a muddy stream....
Later, Stan tried giving lessons in how to 'pose nicely' on a log,
But before long it all descended into happy mayhem.
Eventually calm was restored, and I took a turn at being the centre of attention.
Then before we knew it we were back at the car park and Ollie was saying a fond farewell.
It was yet another Good Day.
oh what a wonderful day for you all... we love to see so much pups... and we love the interesting furs of your friend Stan...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun walk you had Bertie! So exciting to see so many WFT's all at once. Little Ollie looks like a real sweetie, and he's certainly taken a shine to you. I hope he follows your example and behaves impeccably, and not like the naughty Stan!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Inca xx
What a SuperFun day for you and your buddies, Bertie!
ReplyDeletemy face hurts from smiling, i started to smile at the first word/photo and my grin got bigger with each picture and its story. thanks for giving me a pickup this mornin. I have been up since 3 and am fasting for a test that is not until 9:30.. i have a caffeine headache and your fun story made it feel better. Ollie is my first ever sight of a puppy of your breed... my favorite is where everyone is going down down down and of course the muddy coat

ReplyDeleteOMD, Bertie Lad - what a joyful post to bring us on a rather ugly Monday morning (here at least - cold wind, grey skies, wet stuff and security helicopters scouring the area. Getting a fair bit of that as COP26 approaches - are they just practicing or is there something going on in Dunoon I'd rather not know about??!!)
Back to you - what a delight to be with such furiends and 'cousins'. Seeing you en masse like this cannot fail to bring smiles to all faces! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
pee ess - LOVE the new banner shot! Yxx
DeleteHow very nice of you, Bertie, to be so patient with young Ollie.
ReplyDeleteOMDs look at all those happy Foxies and their fine tails all flying high and happy. Bertie yay you on this very special occasion. I bet you had great dreams when it was time for your nap. Ollie is a wee little WFT.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and Gail

What a great get together you had with all those WFT's. It looks like you all had such a fun time and we're sure you all taught little Ollie some new things too.
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks like a super fun day for all the wire-haired terriers and their people! You are so lucky to have so many good friends!
ReplyDeleteRosie and Redford
Oh what fun. Oscar would love a whippet get together - except they's all run the socks off each other!
ReplyDeleteNever knew how much I could love and appreciate my dog until these last few weeks - they are best of companions.
What an awesome day. I don't think you could find a better pack to spend a day with.
ReplyDeleteWow! What great fun that must have been!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a blast! What a wonderful get together.
