Sometimes one simply has to take charge of things.
On Wednesday morning, when Gail asked me what I had planned for Nature Friday this week, I told her I didn't feel like going for another countryside ramble in the hot weather (25ºC, that's 76ºF, is hot, right?)
I had other ideas for how to spend the day.
So I suggested to Gail that she get in touch with one of her hyperactive cycling friends and perhaps they could ride out to Drumoak and take some photos of their favourite picturesque river swimming spot for me, and maybe even go for a 'dook' themselves.
Which is exactly what Gail and her swimsuit model pal 'P' (and an interloping spaniel) did.
Meanwhile, I kept myself gainfully occupied...
Happy Nature Friday! And thanks once again to our LLB Gang friends for hosting this our favourite blog hop.
we take da bone too... water is not our element... but that is a magic place, right?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like both you and Gail enjoyed a great time. Your lamb bone sure looks yummy, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteWell, you both enjoyed doing what you wanted to do. We never pass on a walk even if it is too hot out because we love to walk. Have a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteBertie life is about making wise choices for yourself, delegating and working smarter not harder! You my handsome WFT friend did just that. What a lovely watering hole which I'm positive cooled of the three swimmers.

Oh I just returned from an EMW (early morning walk. I was greeted by 3 most handsome dogs,
Lewis the (a very huge Bermese/Doodle mix) puppy who will tip the scales at 100 lbs,
Aurora aka Rory an adorable itty bitty white Westie and OMDs Cody (the dog I've showcased on my blog). He was out holding court under a tree by his drive way. At almost 14 he is slowed down but always gets up to say hi!
What beautiful, if different, destinations——a river and a lamb bone.
ReplyDeleteYou sure made the right choice, Bertie. We have to say that 76 degrees F is merely warm. It's not until you reach 85 (or almost 30 C) that we consider it hot.

ReplyDeleteGood for you Bertie lad, knowing your limits but not limiting Gail. Excellent relationship management there! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I much prefer eating with you, and I would never ever never let anyone take a photo of me in a bathing suit. i do like a dook but in our warm pool not freezing water.
ReplyDeleteWhile the pictures Gil took along her meanderings were pretty, I really like watching you chew Bertie...In fact, I think I am going to get my chewy out!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Sunny
Hi friend, Ojo here! Hurray for a good chew stick! Good for you for speaking up for yourself!
ReplyDeleteBertie, we think you made some awesome delegating decisions. AND that bone sure looks tasty:)

Sometimes you need to delegate your responsibilities
ReplyDeleteThat was a very sensible move Bertie, and you had that scrumptious bone to enjoy whilst Gail and her pals took to the water.
ReplyDeleteI know what I'd rather do! Even though I'm a Lab, I don't bother with water much these days.
Love,
Inca xx
Lamb bone … yum!
ReplyDeleteThat bone looks lovely, and Gail's outing look like it was perfect for a "hot" day. (Try 90F +,that's our day today!) Looks like you both made the right decisions!
