Worrying signs...

I guess you might be looking at the photo above and thinking that all is well with Bertie's world just now.

How wrong you would be.

Yes OK, I'll grant you, Gail did take me for a nice walk along the cliff path south of Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon and the sun was shining and the sea uncommonly blue.

But if you look closely at the photo you will perhaps spot faint clouds on the horizon...

So first of all, I might point out (and as those of you who know your geography will have already realised) my shadow in the above picture falls in a seawards direction, thus east, indicating that it was well into the afternoon when my walk took place.

Earlier in the day, Gail had, without so much as a 'by your leave, Bertie'  disappeared off on her bicycle for several hours, muttering something about needing to get in shape as her four cycling friends from the USA will be coming here a few days time.

Apparently Gail has planned a ten day tour, riding around Scotland, and I am to be abandoned to the tender mercies of neighbours Yvonne and Neil...

I shall be reporting on the arrival of the Americans in a few days time.

Gail tells me I am being wildly optimistic in hoping these fine folk will find me so inordinately cute that they will insist on fixing a dog carrier to one of their bikes and taking me along with them on the tour.

After all, I only weigh 9 kg. (That's just under 20 lb in American money...)

  1. Hey, I go ridin pretty much everyday wif my momma and you only weigh a lil more dan me . . .

Ok, I knows my momma are not da serious cyclist your momma and her furiends probably are, but still. Dere are bike baskets for adorable pups.

  2. Bertie that is a good plan and I'm sure it will work that you can ride in a basket with you... what is a tour without a WHFT?... and hey you are the ambassador of scotland you have to be included if a delegation from another country visits da bonnie land ;o)

OMD Bertie, there's no keeping your wummin in containment, is there?!! :-) Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  4. A trip in a dog carrier - that would be such fun, Bertie! It's no big deal, is it, to fix one on the back of Gail's bike, and I'm sure they sell them on Amazon !

    Inca xx

  5. Bertie I have a great dream!!! Hop on the red eye come stay with me and you and I can day dream all the day about Tortie hunting and fined vittles. We sure do hope Gail and her friends have a wonderful trip around you beautiful country.
Yvonne and Neil are sure to spoil and love on you as you deserve.
    Hugs Madi your bfff

  6. Bertie Lad: Gusssie used to tell me that the bicycle trip kind of thing happens when you let your human plan her/his own life. Now you must begin finding your inner Jack Russell and just be a major pain in the (ahem) so she gives in and takes you along. Hope you win the next one. Teka Toy

  7. I think you'd look pawesome in a doggy basket! You should definitely go!

  8. Leaving you Bertie! I bet they wont. But I wouldn't settle for a basket, you need your own wheels. Attached to someone else's of course. We recently got abandoned so the peoples could go to Amsterdam. Mum said she's never seen so many bikes!

  9. Well, Bertie - we all think you would make a fantastic tour guide, so YES, someone needs a bike basket just for you!!!

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  10. Oh Bertie surely you need to go along on this bike trip!

  11. We were thinkin' Summer has come to the NORTH from the first photo. Can't believe it was just a pre-ABANDONMENT ploy...Sheesh! Oh well, at least you have trained Yvonne and Neil.

    1. But will they have remembered the training???

  12. Although we think a bicycle ride would be tons of fun...the soft bed and plentiful treats from Yvonne and Neil might be a better bet.

  13. We don't understand why they don't want to take you!

  14. That's even more than I weigh, Bertie! I'm 'bout sixteen pounds. My long-haired brothers weigh closer to twenty. They SAY it's their floof. I say, floof only weighs so much. MOUSES!
