Terriers only on East Coast Trains?

Meet Billy the Parson Jack Russell terrier, sitting pretty in Coach C of the 13:00 hours service from Edinburgh to Newark North Gate last Thursday.

We have yet to encounter a Scottie on the train though.

    1. We are thinking that Alsatians might have special privileges because of border sensitivities?

...talking of terriers sitting pretty, I have a certain young Jock Macdonald of the Jack Russel variety doing just that beside me right now! Yes, the neighbour is leaving him with me each day... I must ask her if she would ever think of taking him on a train trip! (D'ya think the rail peeps are suggesting they only want smaller dogs on their tracks???) hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. Well Princess, when in the Nottingham area we have travelled on East Midlands trains quite often, and do remember a conversation with a Staffie and his owner.

    1. Can't remember ever spotting a Dood on a train, but for sure it's only a matter of time.

  6. OMD you have the bestest adventures and meet such nice furends. You are one lucky guy.
Do you suppose they would ever let Dachshunds on the train?

    1. The thing is, F+E, Dachshunds sometimes hide in their owner's luggage and you can't always spot them.

  9. We're impressed that the scottie is allowed to go on the train. Usually, we see scotties in a circle with a line through it!

  10. Dear Bertie,

Terriers, or any kind of Dogs, are Not Allowed on rail here. We think this is dumb. The people who do not have cars do not have a way to take their Dogs places, because buses and taxis do not allow Dogs either. We think our city should be more like your city!

    Licks,
    Cobi

  11. Bertie - That must have been a very quiet Jack Russell.

  12. Wish we could ride the rails here in the states. That second picture of a Scot with his luggage is actually on a postage stamp.
    Thanks for being a friend
