And for those who don't know the Proclaimers' song 'I'm gonna be (500 miles)':
PS Gail told me some super news this week. Well I think it's super, she is a bit more equivocal. Anyway, from 1st July onwards she will be working 2 1/2 days a week rather than the current 4 days. She assures me there will still be enough money for my food AND treats. So I am currently drawing up a detailed plan for how she will spend the extra free time. I am sure my friends will have some good suggestions too, and if so, please let me know via comments and I will do my best to incorporate these before the plan (which of course I shall be sharing with you) is finalised.
Oh Bertie that is truly amazing news...Gail will be at your beckon call 24/7 4.5 days a week and fully ready to do any thing you want to do!! The adventures will be endless.
ReplyDeleteBe sure you don't let her get involved in too many home do it yourself projects.
Now for a few suggestions:
1. Since it can rain a lot in Scotland I suggest all rainy days be filled with Gail baking special treats for you or knitting jackets
2. on sunny days you MUST walk to a lovely cafe for lunch 4.5 days
3. She can relax every so often AFTER your NEEDS are met
4. YOU both must hug lots and talk lots and have fun no matter the weather!
hugs madi your bfff
PS the video would not play for us
ReplyDeleteOhhh yes now I can see/hear the video by the Reid brothers. I have never heard it before or heard of them. I love the words to the song. I'm going to google them to hear the Letter to America song.
ReplyDeleteHugs Madi and Cecilia

ReplyDeleteMadi and Leah are both onto something... I have hinted to Easy that we might think about a meet-up of Euro-Blogville so that is one thing to think on about; certainly there must be MUCH more time spent at Torridon (and maybe Dunoon?!) I think that the new working arrangements will prove to be wonderful for all concerned, and am equally certain, Bertie lad, that your plans will be fine indeed!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Wow, well... it's hard to top Madi and Julie's suggestions, Bertie. Hoping you do have enough left over every month for a little cake....We look forward to more posts, of course--you directing, Gail writing.
ReplyDeleteWE would walk 87 yards fur Cake.
ReplyDeleteOMD OMD Bertie you will have Tons of time to spent with Miss Gail now... We suggest that you spend some of this RICHLY DESERVED Extra Time... Training her... stuffs like HOLE DIGGING 101
Roaching and Rolling in fresh GRASS 202
Rolling in Road Kill 101
Squirrel Chasing 301
So glad Miss Gail will have more time to spend with you. (You want her to be out a little so she appreciates you). We would walk 500 miles for cake too!
ReplyDeleteThat will be wonderful having Gail with you more days! Our mom said she was running in a marathon and they were playing that song!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Oh my Dog, what GREAT news!! I remember all the plans we had for Mama when she cut back on her hours at work, it was mah-velous!! But then...we realized that it was harder for Jakey to get us stuff off the table when she was home, and she wouldn't let us play fight in the house....and she doesn't make treats for us anymore like she used to....Hmmmmm, excuse us while we go have a talk with our Mama!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
PeeEss...We are sure Gail will pay much more attention to your commands than our Mama did to ours!
Dear Bertie,
ReplyDeleteHurray, that sounds like more chances to walk your thousand miles!
Licks,
Cobi
Cake - yummmm.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Bertie ..... how good is that?? Now we might get to see you more too. I reckon you should go on lots more walks and take lots more pictures so we can get to see lots more of your beautiful Scottish scenery and lots more of you too, aye, Bertie?? AND you can walk 500 miles and eat cake. I'd walk 500 miles to eat cake. Especially if it came with icecream. Mum LOVES that song!!!
ReplyDeleteYou better buy walking shoes
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Hmmmmmm. We'd rather have our cake delivered....500 miles sounds a bit extreme! You're going to have to organise lots of outings for Gail. So happy her work hours have been cut. This in no way means she can go off on her bike without you.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds super duper fun! If only our human would get some good news like that!
ReplyDeleteHey Bertie!
ReplyDeleteWow, my Mom has that fun song stuck in her head now! BWAR HAR HAR OMD, it will be so great to have Gail home more with you. Definitely pencil in more walkie time. That's a priority fur sure.
