The purposeful walk

Can you believe I am sometimes accused of dawdling?

Recently I overheard Gail express the view that I conduct a "go slow" on morning walks round the park. She even has the theory that I do this deliberately in order to prolong the outing and delay her departure to work.

The words "getting a bit middle-aged" have also been uttered with reference to myself.

To which I answer that it takes one to know one.

  1. I'm shocked Bertie! Doesn't Gail know the value of taking your time and smelling the roses….or the pee mail in our case?

  2. Bertie...remind Gail of the mad dash you made at the train station?!! Slow and easy is best. molmolmol.
Mom says she knows what Gail means. On the days mom walks our neighbor's dog Kasi, she said Kasi stops to smell every single blade of grass and often stops holds her head up as if catching every breeze.

  4. As the oldest male In our family (calculating by any dog v people years method we have seen) I take great pride in my ability to identify any stange scents on our routes, mark my specific territory, and observe traffic patterns and changes daily.

That takes time! And I will not compromise my standards. Remember, we are talking about duty, obligation and responsibility here. Should, ought, must. Tell Gale I said so

  8. There's no point in RUSHING through life. Gail needs to take a little time to stop and pee on the roses!
