What a good thing no-one fell asleep on the riverside (now mid-river) bench!
The boathouse is still underwater, but thankfully nobody lives there.
Our walk took us on to Sainsbury's, where I spotted snow on car roofs.
Gail rejected, with uncharacteristic ill humour, my suggestion that she drive inland to find some snow for me to play around in. "Haven't you seen the pictures in the papers Bertie? If you think I'm getting in the car again any time soon after last night's terrifying journey home from work, you've got another think coming... "
So I had to content myself with a walk back along the old railway line, and saying Happy New Year to my Westie pal Dougie, who seemed mighty proud of his new Royal Stuart tartan coat. And then in was time to return home, before the rain starts again...
so glad you are out and about again! Those pictures remind me of when we experienced hurricane sandy here, we went to our favorite park and it was underwater!

ReplyDeleteBertie lad, I was just this very morning wondering about Gail's commute...and it seems it is indeed a dodgg one just now. Snow, at least, is decent sort of winter weather! Stay warm and dry this weekend, the pair of you... hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
Precipitation Land. It's all happening there. We're glad you're on high ground!

Crikey Bertie .... and I'm complaining because I can't go to main beach. You poor thing and poor Gail. That doesn't look like much fun, mate!!
ReplyDeleteBertie- We read about the hole in the airport runway .
ReplyDeleteScary amounts of rain B+G. Hopefully it will calm down soon although I see there is some again in the forecast today and tomorrow (as if you need it). On the bright side... the likelihood of water restrictions any time soon look slim to none.
ReplyDeleteThe water is taking so long to recede, but then it doesn't seem to have stopped raining! Snow is the last thing anyone needs right now so i'm with Gail on that one! Keep dry Bertie!
ReplyDeletethat rain should go away immediately...before your whole island is a lake... I cross my paws for all peeps and pets and the wildlife...
ReplyDeleteHope things dry out soon! That's an awful lot of excess water!
ReplyDeleteWAlKIES BEFORE RAIN; WALKIES BEFORE RAIN; WALKIES BEFORE RAIN!
ReplyDeleteP.s. I haven't been to Venice, Bertie. Shall we go together?! xo
Sorry about your crumby weather, Bertie. We have had much of the same here. Every sun break is a reason to celebrate and go for a walk! Enjoy your dry spell :)

Dear Bertie,
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy - the puddle ate the grass! And the bench! And the barn!
Stay safe from the crazy puddle, friend!

I hope the flood waters have gone down now. We watched on the news those poor caravans being floated away by the river Dee. (Mum and Dad's jobs are to do with caravans!)
