Over-excitement leads to stress...

Oh my golly gosh I am so excited I am just bouncing for joy this is simply incredible you have no idea what Gail has just whispered in my ear it is a top secret and all I have been told so far is that on Friday morning we are driving down south to the Lake District for a rendezvous with some very special blogging friends including one who has come from all the way across the Pond and I just can't wait to meet them all this will absolutely be the highlight of my year let me have a look at the map and see where we are going...

... oh no Gail is this the only map you have is it really the one you used when you went youth hostelling with your school friend Kathryn in 1976 which was a very hot summer and you caught sunstroke walking over Black Sail Pass from Buttermere to Wastwater let me check out our route are you sure the roads will be the same as they were all that time ago seriously what a disaster it would be if we got lost I must say it's about time you invested in a Satnav isn't it I am so worried that I might not get the chance to meet my pals after all just because you are too mean to spend money on modern technology this is absolutely terrible I am going to be a nervous wreck what can I do.....

OH Bertie you have made me giggle! I ADORE maps and the older the better - well done to Gail for preserving this so well. I have a box full of similar back in OZ. Even some of Scotland...

Then again, gizmos for gandering are fun too - should I mention geocaching - I think you two are made for it! Not that I do any here in the ashram. Searching for spirit requires rather different equipments!!!

Am looking forward with much anticipation to a full report on the meeting. what a great area for it. Settle down, doglet... it'll come round soon enough! hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xx

  5. Give my regards to Ambleside if you're there Bertie - one of my favourite places. Don't tell Gail I told you this but Hayes Garden World in Ambleside is a super place to visit and has a decent pet area for toys and the like :)

  11. Bertie, now you must try and settle down a bit.
Take a deep breath and hold it while you count to 10. Do that three or four times and you will have a better grip on things. Gail won't get you lost, not a bit!

    Have fun, Bertie,

    Stella, Jo and Zkhat

  17. Oh what fun, meeting blog friends in person! We met some Dogster friends in person last year... we went to San Antonio, Texas, for the Fiesta Pooch Parade.
Oh my dog, the streets were lined in dog treats.
    Literally.

Hope you have fun with your meet-up and get some goodies, too!

  23. Bertie you lucky thing! Please take me with you! Is it Ludo you're meeting up with? You'll have to do a very exciting post when you get back! I hope the weather is good for you when you're down there. In aberdeen just now we have blue sky and no clouds at all. I think it's something like 16 degrees Celsius, not sure though...
Talking of weather, Eve had a rather cold time in Loch Insh and a rather chilly canoeing trip in the snow. Heavy snow. She says the watersports were all fun though, except everyone froze there!
Hope you and Gail have a lovely time,
    Pippa :)
