Well nearly, anyway.
I was let out of 'camp' this morning. I have to tell you I was ever so slightly miffed to learn that Gail had been back from hospital since Saturday, but I was so pleased to be home too I wasn't going to make a big deal about it.
She keeps singing the praises of something called 'keyhole surgery'. I don't know about that but I can tell you she has a bruise around her belly button more colourful than the fall foliage in a New England forest.
Oh, I am being told to change the subject, as some of my readers may be of sensitive disposition....
Well let me tell you, we are gearing up for Saturday's big Rugby World Cup game, Scotland versus England!
Meanwhile, I am going for walks in the park with a nice lady called Sheila, 'cos, can you believe, Gail has suddenly turned all lazy. (She is pretending it has something to do with the belly button thing).

Well I hope the keyhole fixes itself up & Gail can be back to walking you in no time!
ReplyDeleteI thought keyholes were for doors...

Bertie - That is the best news of the week. Probably the month . And possibly the year !
ReplyDeleteWe're so happy you're home (we spent 12 days in camp ourselves, so we can empathize). And we're delighted that Gail is home and doing well. Tell her that our grandpa - now retired from 45 years of OB/GYN - was one of the first in the US to do the "belly button thing" - laparoscopy - on his patients. It's evolved a lot since then too.
ReplyDeleteWirey woofs to you and gentle hugs to Gail!
Jake and Just Harry

ReplyDeleteOh Bertie, so glad they let you out of the slammer! And very glad Gail is feeling better. Be gentle with her, OK?

ReplyDeleteHi Bertie, did your mum give you the key to her belly and can you look through the key hole? Wow sounds confusing. Mum's are funny at times aren't they. Take care.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, and love, Stella and Rory

ReplyDeleteHope she's feelin lots better real soon.
Hi Bertie,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and Gail are both back home, and things are getting back to normal. It won't be long until you are a lap dog again. I was very impressed with your balancing on Gails's legs, although I'm not sure it is a safe place to be while she is watching rugby.
Woofs (and an extra couple of woofs for your team to do well on Saturday),
Riley
Welcome back Bertie!!
ReplyDeleteWe have missed you. Glad to hear that Gail is mending. Yep, we just have to take care of our peeps, mine had the keyhole thingy too, so I totally understand!!

Good thing about the key hole thing is Gail will be up and hiking very soon!
ReplyDeleteWho are you barracking for in the Scotland vs England game? Or are you just hedging your bets.
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Glad you're back from camp.
We are glad to know that the keyhole is repairing itself. It looks like you are being very attentive. When Mom had some surgery, only Lilly was allowed on the bed with her because the rest of us were too bouncy!! Be good young Bertie and don't bounce on Gail - she is still a bit fragile, but soon she be back as good as new again.

ReplyDeleteGeesh, I'm so glad to see you are home. Looks like you are going to have a comfortable place on that lap buddy...make full use of Gail's recouperation.
Must say...we are very grateful that all went well. BOL! BOL! BOL!
Sending lotsalicks

Oh Bertie I sure am happy that you got sprung from jail and that your Gail is home and doing well. I sure hope that the doctors were able to find the right key for her belly button!
ReplyDeletewoos, Tessa
Great news you are both back. Horatio has been pestering me all week to check the blog if you are back. Can empathise with the belly button thing. I remember discovering how much you need your core muscles! It will get better though. Bet having Bertie there is cheering you up.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon. Glad to see Bertie is enjoying being back at home!
ReplyDeleteFlo and I will be cheering Scotland on down here in Darwin too... what is it they have to win by, is it 8 points or something? Fingers crossed. Hope my neighbours are ready for the renditions of Flower of Scotland!
H and Flo
Welcome home! We're happy to see you both survived, and that Bertie is considerately lying on Gail's legs instead of her lap, and that Gail has thoughtfully provided a pillow to support Bertie's back/rear end. Just don't kick out during the rugby, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteJed & Abby
Good for Gail.
ReplyDeleteYou look after her, Bertie
Love and licks, Winnie
Late as usual..thats us! We are so sorry we missed Gail going to hospital so pleased she is home safe and sound. Hopefully well on the road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of her Bertie.
