Thyme for Nature Friday

Summer in the Scottish Highlands and I often find my paws padding over a soft carpet of wild thyme. A pretty plant, I'm sure you'll agree. Only problem is, the sight of the little purple blooms triggers in Gail an urge to sing massacre a favourite and lovely traditional song.

You will be most relieved not to have to hear Gail's tuneless warbling, and instead I commend to you this version of 'Wild Mountain Thyme', sensitively performed by Dick Gaughan and friends.

We're delighted to be joining Arty, Jakey and Rosy's Nature Friday bloghop once again. Do visit the other posts and enjoy!

  7. Bertie inquiring minds (mine) want to know if your WFT paws smell of thyme when you tiptoe thru the thyme? The thyme flower is lovely and please tell Gail I appreciate that she shared this song as I have never heard it until today.

    1. Sorry to disappoint you, but the truth is that our wild thyme here has only a faint (though still lovely) aroma.

  9. Our mom really liked that song and was wondering if Gail knows how to play the guitar? Me and Stanley would like to hear Gail sing. Moms always sing the best, even when they don't. BTW, we are leaving on vacation in the borning to go to a place where mom and dad can ride their bikes. Me and Stanley will get stuck in the wheelie house but other times we get to go hiking.

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  11. That IS a lovely song. Mom says she could listen to it over and over. Now we did not know that thyme was such a pretty flower, and not just an herb.

    Thanks for sharing.
