Welcome to the LLB Gang's Nature Friday folks.
So I came across this fern in a walk through the woods last week, and suggested to Gail that it might need watering.
After all, dehydration is always a danger, right?
Gail says "wrong", and dehydration is not in general an issue for woodland plants in December in Scotland.
But I still say the precautionary principle is always best...
And I'm off to find some more ferns to water now.
great that you helped that fern with some water... your kingdom looks like ours, too much water efurrywhere... and we prepare for the storm what comes over the canal...
ReplyDeleteWow that is one big fern that needed your attention, Bertie!

Hi Bertie, did the fern say thanks, or gurgle, gurgle, P U?
ReplyDeleteNice of you to help that poor fern out. We have a few smaller ferns in our yard and I always try to help them out with a little watering, too.
ReplyDeleteFerns need LOTS of water, so better safe than sorry!
ReplyDeleteBertie Bertie Bertie
ReplyDeleteYour dedication to keeping the fern green is to be celebrated. Might I suggest a meat pie for supper served on the finest china.
Good Job keeping your nose to the ground.

I'm rolling! No drought here...for the fern at least.
ReplyDeleteThat's one very big fern, Bertie. Are you sure you had enough "water" to take care of it properly? BOL.

We think you are also adding a little fertilizer Bertie so you will be helping the fern grow bigger.
