Welcome to December folks!
I bet some of you are looking at the picture above and thinking gosh, that Bertie chappie is casting a long shadow, he must be out and about on the beach in Aberdeen near sunrise or sunset.
Oh but how wrong you would be. Here at the onset of winter, at over 57ºN, this is about as good as it gets, sun-wise. The photo was taken close to midday and believe me, there is precious little warmth when the rays are coming from so low in the sky.
What sort of shadow do you cast?
(Please not that this question is a purely scientific one, and not to be answered in terms of Jungian psychoanalysis....)
we are mostly shadow-less the sun didn't make it over the canal by now, so only gray sky and rain...
ReplyDeleteIt is the third day of summer here in New Zealand that it is the third day of thunder and lightening storms.

ReplyDeleteBertie lad, till this morning, I'd have said as the Weims said... but today, yes, for this morning only, the shadow stands out and it is looooonnnnnggggg.... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Dear Bertie...OMCs twice as tall makes you TWICE as handsome..be still my heart.
ReplyDeleteThis is my time of year. The sun adds about 3 inches to my actual 5'3 1/2"
Hugs Cecilia
A very short shadow here. After all, I am a Jack Russell!
ReplyDeleteWe had serious fog here this morning, Bertie, and we had to keep our ears pealed for traffic approaching. What a gorgeous shot of you!
ReplyDeleteWatch out Bertie there's a HUGE black doggie right behind you
ReplyDeleteOh....*blush*.....its your shadow isn't it, how embarrassing fur me
Loves and licky kisses

You are looking good Bertie. We have seen so little sun we would welcome one as long as yours even at midday.
ReplyDeleteGetting very warm here during the day, so we're mostly inside or the shade, not casing ANY shadows.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen much sun in days, just a lot of rain, sleet, and light snow accompanied by very dense fog - so not too many shadows here. But we are quite impressed with yours, Bertie!!!

We had a couple of days where it felt like a warm spring day. We hope these cold months go by quick so we can enjoy beach weather again. Thanks for sharing the lovely photo. Have a wonderful day.

Not much shadow gazing here either...Rainy season is upon us.

Wow, that is a very long shadow! We would have guessed 3pm! Mom says when she rides her bike she needs to start and finish before the shadows get long cuz then it is too cold. Better wear a jumper Bertie!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
At least it is some sun!
ReplyDeleteDear Bertie,
ReplyDeleteOur shadows look like that right now too! Except not on the Beach. We don't get to go to Beach very often any more. This is Ojo's fault. She is Bad. I would like to put my shadow on the Beach next to yours. Could I do that? Your Beach looks perfect!
Licks,
Cobi
Bertie - Forget the shadows. Anyone on the beach in Aberdeen in December is worthy of Jungian psychoanalysis. Was it breezy ?
