A big cheese?

One only meets the nicest of dogs in my local park.

This fine wee pug chappie is called Stilton. He is eight months old and already a big cheese on Instagram apparently.

I wonder what he thinks about being named after one of Gail's favourite foodables?

Given Gail's fondness for cheeses - the smellier the better - it occurred to me that I could have met with a similar fate, name-wise.

Can you imagine me as 'Camem-Bert'?
Is Gail teasing me when she says perhaps 'Stinking Bishop' would have been appropriate?
Tomme (de SavoieScotland) is, I think, suitably plain, manly and distinguished.
Or Rick-cotta? Rocky-fort?
Phil Adelphia?
Maybe Gordon Zola...

Er, I wonder if my friends ever speculate on this topic?

  1. Bertie that was 100% canine wisdom... and that is an important topic...we have a friend who is named after a worse politician (but the owner had a gun in his mind) and the poor pup gets many gleeful grins at social medias...

  2. LOL I like Gordon Zola we could call you Gordy!!
This was particularly funny to me. My daughter's first job was in the Food Science Department.
The professor was a dairy expert folks called him The Big Cheese.
I woke up way too early this am I guess I'm eager for jury duty

  14. OMD, Momma says she's never seen a pug that color before! Apparently when she was a wee pup, she had both Labradors and pugs, and boxers were her compromise between them.

  16. Stilton is quite a handsome dude. My assistant is crazy about potatoes so I might been named fries, hash brown, or mashed potato. Ugh, thank goodness she didn't ever consider it.

  17. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! I wish I only met the nicest of Dogs at the park! It's very hit and miss! Also, I like Camem-Bert! Very distinguished! Also, I love cheese! My person sings a song to me, the tune is Beauty and the Beast, but she sings "Ojo and the cheese"! It is my favourite!
