His owners told Gail he was 'just a mix' of schnauzer and wire-haired fox terrier.
Would you like to be called 'just a mix?'
I'm sure that labradoodles and cockerpoos do not consider themselves 'just a mix'.
Gail thought perhaps our friend here could be called a 'schnoxy'.
Myself, I prefer 'wauzer' (pronounced 'wowzer' ) as having greater impact.
Do you have any suggestions?
PS Can you believe Gail said some folk might think the WFT temperament needs a bit of diluting!!??
Bertie,
ReplyDeleteIn my very southern part of the world you don't want to be known as a wowser (or wowzer) as they are no fun at all! How about calling your new friend as a "Schnerrier"?
Woofs,

The interesting things one learns through blogging! Just googled 'wowser' and no dog that is all or part fox terrier could be so described!
DeleteCheers, Gail.
I must have gone barking mad as I see I repeated my woofs!
ReplyDeleteSchnerrier? A friend wants to breed a Bull Terrier with a Shitzu so he can have a Bull Shitz.
ReplyDeleteRoxy prefers unique to 'just a mix'.
Bull Shitz.
DeleteTeehee!
Just a mix.....what a scandal. Have a marvellous Monday Bertie.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I love the name "wauzer". You get double the personality, I guess

ReplyDeleteWell, gone are the days when mixed breed dogs were simply mongrels; puppy mills and allergies have a lot to answer for in terms of the mix'n'matching.... Down Under, to call someone a 'mongrel' is to suggest they are a bit wild and undisciplined... Wonder if he is 'schnozzier' than you are? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We had a little dog who was a cross between a Lhasa Apso and poodle we called her a lhasapoo. She then got together with a Labrador and had one puppy - I called him handsome my mum said ugly!!!!! Poor dog he was fun though.

Gail's right Bertie. Some people might think a WFT temperament needs a bit of diluting but they'd be very wrong, aye?? Wires are perfect just as they are!! Different but perfect. I like Schnoxy myself. No WFT could be considered a wauser .... not even a mixed up one. That bloke sure looks happy and he is very handsome, aye??
ReplyDeleteWauzer, for sure for sure. However, having had both (schnauzers and wfts) the muzzer says "Not sure what that cross would be diluting, except maybe common sense." He sure is a handsome fella and looks like fun on four feet.
ReplyDeletegussie
Definitely a Wowzer.....and very cute too - almost as cute as you Bertie - oh sorry - you are not cute are you - being the manly HE dog you are.....very james bond handsome then :)
ReplyDeleteJames Bond? Yes I like that.
Delete"just a mix" is like having no name. it's a cute guy, so maybe a SCHNAUZTER? there is a schnauzer and a terrier included :o)
ReplyDeleteWAUZER FOR SURE 'CAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE A PURRFECT BLEND OF BOTH LOVELY BREDS
ReplyDeleteHUGS MADI YOUR BFFF

A wire-haired schnaux terrier!
ReplyDeleteWAUZER ... there shouldn't even be a question about it!!!
ReplyDeleteWE think a DAWG by any other name is STILL a Dawg.
ReplyDeleteWe like to think of EACH of us as being UNIQUE.
Dilute the WFT temperament !
ReplyDeleteOh come on. Just a mix of wire hair terrorist!
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
I think you should call him a 'schnoxy". Urban slang for wowzer means Expression of wonderment or
ReplyDeleteExpresssion of bewilderment. I think he is a mighty fine specimen of a dog.
Thanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
We think mixes are not just mixes, they are very special! We think he is very handsome.
ReplyDeleteNo doggie is "just a mix"!! We are purebred goldendoodles after all!
