A brief encounter

"I know my place" said the man as he stepped on to the road, allowing Gail and I to continue home on a narrow stretch of pavement. Then he glanced fondly back at me, smiled and added "he's lovely".

What a nice chap.

The scenario is illustrated below with a different and less attentive man, for whom road safety is clearly not a priority…

  1. Can't believe we have nearly the same title today.....

We think if that second man ignored you and is walking IN the street, he DESERVES whatever comes to him.

Oh, all morning the news has been heaping rubbish on the Scottish Commonwealth Games uniforms. Does that make us even for the yellow lycra cycling pants? We'll probably be having those again.

  2. Do you know it is one of the greatest caues of accidents these days - people to busy talking on their cells to notice anything going on around them.....maybe we should all start a sneak attack campaign - silently come up behind them and bark like crazy :)

  5. Crikey Bertie .... you did it again, mate! You keep showing that cute little strut and that cute little butt and that cute little upright tail and my Mum goes all melancholy on me. You wouldn't wanna meet my Mum on a walk. You'd never get away from her. You'd get more than he's lovely from her!!! She'd gush over you for hours!!

  9. That first guy sounds very nice. Whenever we're coming up towards people on the sidewalk, Momma tells me "be polite" and I move into the grass instead. But sometimes people move for me instead, and I think that's very nice of them!

  11. Hmm that seems pretty silly about that second man there. What on earth was he thinking? Good think you were around in case you needed to save the day.

  15. Manners are always important. Everyone knows you are lovely and should say it loud and clear, while stepping aside.
