At the entrance to Duthie Park, where us pups like to rendezvous with our pals, we have a shiny new sign showing a map of the park.
Below the map, you'll find a list of do's and don'ts.
In general the rules are sensible, I think, and fair to both dogs and humans.
Although I am concerned that the meaning of the first one is a tad ambiguous.
And why was Gail was frowning as I left a message for my mates?
I didn't see anything there about banning pee-mail, did you?
Oh Bertie, I don't get those rules either. There should be translations for dogs on those kinds of signs. Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI think that was the perfect response to the sign.
ReplyDeleteNice marking there. hehehe
ReplyDeleteWags,
Ranger
WE think that YOU did a super job of leaving the PeeMail EXPLANATION of the Sign and the RULES.
ReplyDeleteA WEEK??? A whole WEEK of NO BERTIE... THIS is an abomination. TELL Gail we said HURRY BACK!!
Hari Om
ReplyDeleteOh Bertie, similar signs have been up all round OZ for, ooohhh, 87 centuries now only they are MUCH more strict - like 'no horses' (in Sydney?!)and animals to be kept at least 50 metres from play areas... okay but who' carries the measuring tape??? Until a few years ago it was strictly dogs on leash ONLY, but thankfully for Jade, that got eased to the more ambiguous "under control" like you point out here. Again - who does the measuring? There were some dreadful messer-upper-dogs at our local park.
Oh well - at least you were able to leave a translation, always useful.
Now what's this - you need four other folk to do what Gail does on her own??? Bertie, for heavens sake make sure you have enough fun with them all to write blogs for a month after!!!
We'll have withdrawal symptoms till you get back. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Bertie...it is hard to find good help now-a-days (that's Southern US talk for currently). We know your care team will follow Gail's instructions carefully. Know that she will undoubtedly miss YOU more than you are missing HER.
ReplyDeleteWe are accustomed to abandonment here too. The Muzzer is leaving us on Friday to see Aunt Marie in St. Louis. Our Care Team has one member. DAD! But as long as he brings home leftovers, we are good to go
gussie n teka
(more room on the bed for us!)
Bertie, have a nice week with your care team.
ReplyDeleteMai the Westie
Well done, Bertie!...for leaving Pee-mail about their ambiguous sign.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels Gail!

Bertie, how will Gail survive a whole week without you? i think we should petition Gail to get you your own sibling. You can have mine if you like?
ReplyDelete~Lickies, Ludo
Peess Mum's eyesight does not be good enough to read the other little sign which seems to say dogs and we is very curious to know what else it says. Last year we got similar rules at my beach prom area, only the play area has beed taken away now, so I not sure whether it still applies.
I hope you behave yourself for your new team. It would take that many people to keep you out of mischief, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteWill you be at home or lodging elsewhere?
Cheers,
Stella
Bertie is at home with my lodger Marie-Therese.
DeleteCheers, Gail (in the lounge in transit at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, enjoying watching the closing km of the Tour de France on TV. What I would give to be on the Champs Élysées just a few kilometres away....)
Have a good week Bertie and hope Gails' trip goes well and we will see you soon. Have a serene Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Top of the afternoon to you Handsome Bertie!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely NO I saw nothing prohibiting invisible smell mail so pee freely!
Wish Gail a good trip and we wish you 4 caregivers who are heavy handed with the kibble and long winded with the walks
Hugs madi your bFFFFFFF
On Tuesday, I completely abused rule number 4, because outside the new children's play park there was a no dogs sign, BUT the dog on it looked exactly like you, so I mistook it for a NO BERTIES sign! I was wondering what you could possibly have done to get yourself banned from the play park!
ReplyDeleteEve is pointing out that rule 2 does not cover unicyclists as well.
See you next week,
Pippa :)
We hope your watchers do well buy you though no doubt you will miss Gail terrible and she you. This will make the reunion all the sweeter. As far as the sign we are similarly baffled by signs near us. Sadly almost no one picks up after their dogs in jersey city which is why we are probably dealing with worms in some of us pups, eek.! As far as p mail you have to leave your messages
ReplyDeleteurban hounds
Four-person care team just for you. You are a high maintenance lad!
ReplyDeleteThat sign is just the community billboard for you pups....so leave messages.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
What is a dog bin? Is Gail supposed to put YOU in a bin? Crazy! Hope Gail has a good trip!
ReplyDeleteHi Bertie,
ReplyDeleteI am concerned about that first rule too! Were they referring to green dogs, like the one in my last post (about dog rubbish bins in my favourite park) or do humans have to dispose of their rubbish by feeding it to their dog?
Woofs,
Riley
We think you left another message, BOL
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Howdy Bertie. Rory's panicking now. He wonders if there's a bin big enough for him. I said yes, ahahahahaha. No worries, and love, Stella (evil sister) and Rory (sooky la la).
ReplyDeleteVery sensible rules Bertie. Blimey, the last time I saw a leg cocked that high, it was in the moulin ruge.
ReplyDeleteBertie! Great extension in that final photo.
ReplyDeleteBertie - What is it you get up to that requires four people to look after you ?
ReplyDeleteBertie -- hope the care team can keep you in the style to which you are accustomed :)
ReplyDeleteBe a good dog, Bertie. We will wait by the computer for your return!
ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
That sign was asking for a little peemail!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
You were just advising your fellow pups that following the rules was good for all so woofers would continue to be allowed in the park...smart move Bertie!
