Not boasting or anything but I totally cleaned up at the puppy class graduation party last Thursday night!
Yes, I won prizes for games of musical chairs and pass the parcel, and, paired with team mate Baxter the Cockerpoo, also the relay races which involved weaving round the poles with and without potato and spoon (which was held by the humans, obviously..... ) It maybe helped that Gail was once, back in the day, a 100 meters runner! Or so she tells me.
Here am I with Baxter and his mum, celebrating our two victories. Which were no less meaningful for the fact that the competing team consisted of Daisy Dachshund and Freddie Lhasa Apso.
It just so happens that the only time I didn't win was when we played the 'sit when the music stops' game. Which of course is the only one that we videoed*.
*Big thanks to Marie-Therese, film director and fellow member of the victorious relay team.
We absolutely love the look of excitement on your face in the last picture!! Congrats on doing so well!! Ruairi (really Mom) flunked out of Puppy Kindergarten!! (something about a personality conflict with the instructor)

ReplyDeleteCongrats on a successful beginning of your education! May you always be such a dazzler, Bertie! Its always good to have successful people on your team too, like Gail and Marie-Therese, don't forget that.

I'd rather go to puppy class than to the theatre.

ReplyDeleteWe loved the video, we can see that you have a very enquiring mind and have so much yet to learn....!
Gail is coming along nicely.
We have decided to take a little blogging break over the summer as we are struggling to spend time off exploring and blogging.
We will still look in though from time to time to see how you are doing.

We start wiggling and squirming whenever the subject of SCHOOL comes up. We think we've got Moma convinced we are too old and still too ... umm ... wounded to give it a try. Which seems just fine with us. We get treats for looking cute. That counts, doesn't it?
ReplyDelete(We're afraid you might become obese in our household. You are tops in the cuteness category. Cute and clever!)
We could watch your videos over and over again. Come to think of it ... we DID!

Bertie! Congratulations! I give you high marks for terrier-tude (as in, I know what sit means, I just don't want to sit right now..see...bottom bump...that's a sit!). I bet you won the award for the most social kid in the class too!
ReplyDeleteWill you be going for higher education classes? I had to repeat puppy class before I was allowed to go higher. Seems socializing during class was frowned on. It's not my fault they other dogs couldn't multi-task and learn and play at the same time.
You are much to young to 'date', but if you ever do...please remember to be polite and say sweet nothings to your girlfriend...or at least a proper hello...before trying to steal a smooch! Or anything else for that manner.
sniffies,
Bonnie
Bertie my boy,my wagger might well fall off after going so fast reading about all your graduation, I'm so dog a blogging proud. Then seeing your video..HAAAAAhAAAAA HAAAA!!!! Bark about a chip off the old block. So like your Uncle, after every doggie and sitting for a nano just to get your treat(didn't lookie like black puddin'grrr)and in such fine voice too. You are quite the top of the form. Keep it up and remember to flunk the next level of classes even though you could wing it, got to keep Gail on her tootsies.
ReplyDeleteNow talking of tootsies. The springing thing. Practise makes perfect. JUMP for anything left on a table at EVERY opportunity. Like wise JUMP on laps, beds and furniture. Whatever you like the look of - jump for it.It'll get those springs of yours developed licekty spit. DO jump up to greet every leggeds. EVERY time. Cock a deaf 'un at the no's and then the desperate plea's, dead easy to do as you know. I've done so for quite a number of years. DO learn to walk on your back leggeds as soon as possible- us foxy boys are wicked good at this. Bingo!!! It's like hitting the jackpot Bertie in the treats stakes. Super clever and cute all rolled into one. Which of course you are my clever clogs nephew.
Never fear (though Gail might)you'll be boing diddy boinging all over the place before long.
Square love from your proper proud Uncle Eric xxxxx
Congratulations! Puppy class can be tough. Paying attention isn't what puppies are good at. You and Baxter make a great team.
