Ideal conditions for agility...

.....are not always encountered on an April evening in Aberdeen.

Things might look promising on arrival...

...but then the sun retreats behind a cloud...

... and before you can say "Bertie, GO!" rainwear is required...

... and the strengthening wind blows over the hurdles which have then to be realigned end on to the direction of the gale...

... and one's ears are also realigned...

...and the night draws in...

...but only when it is no longer possible to see the obstacles do the Deeside Dog Agility Club members finally give up and go home.

Note from Gail: apologies for the poor quality of some of the later pictures. I fear I failed to keep the camera lens dry!

  1. Not only tests of agility, but flexibility as well! Hearty folk.

We love the picture of you watching the sun disappear.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  2. Brrrrrr that look colder than a frozen coke Bertie!! We can honestly say that this would rarely happen here - when I did agility it was the heat that freaked everyone out!

I liked the photo of you shouting to the sun to come back!! BOL!

    Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx

  3. Bertie - What is life without a little rain ? Particularly if it's blowing towards you horizontally at eighty miles an hour !

  4. Ah the joys of living in Scotland Bertie. What are you doing in that second picture: singing? smiling? Telling a canine joke?

  5. Blimey you need to be made of stern stuff in your neck of the woods mate. If it's raining its hard to persuade me to go outside at all! Deccy x

  6. Hari OM
"...and one's ears are also realigned" - nae doot aboot ye Bertie, ye're a wee comic! Rather you than me in that weather. Have a great week. YAM-aunty

  7. We love the "realignment of the ears"! Super fun post. We love the fortitude you all showed.

    Keep on wagging,

    Tootsie and Us

  8. We too love the realignment of the ears. LOL! We hope you get better weather now Bertie so it will be more fun. Have a serene Sunday.
    Best wishes Molly

  9. Don't let a little rain stop ya! Have a great Sunday!

  10. Go Bertie, dont let any rain stop you!!!

    urban hounds

  11. You have to be a hearty one to do agility outdoors where you live Bertie.

  12. You have very agile ears, Bertie!

    Edgar & his mum

  13. You are a trooper for sticking it out! All the Oregonian dogs, do their agility practice inside of big barns..we aren't a rugged as you Bertie!

P.S. I like your stuffed fox. Very fitting, with you being a Fox Terrier and all...I'm sure it crossed your mind already.

  14. Bertie, you make us feel like wimps!!

    -Bart and Otto

  15. Bertie, it wasn't that bad! When the clouds cleared away, the sun came out! I myself did some agility!
You looked very happy doing that, you're lucky your club has such a big field!
Eve's been looking at agility clubs, but none of them have suitable times because she's very busy too.
Also, I have to be careful around big dogs after the one who chased me out of Victoria park.
    Have a great week!
    Pippa :)

    1. P.S. I do like your new picture of you and the fox! I thought it was all torn and chewed though! It has done very well.

  16. Did you get a turn Bertie?
    Benny & Lily

  17. It looks like the members of Deeside Dog Agility Club are a hardy group! I hope you got a turn or two, Bertie.

  18. Hm, that sounds somewhat familiar. Could Cumbria possibly be closer to Scotland than I thought? Millions of miles...
