My 7th Birthday Weekend has included....

...a super special card from my dear friends Madi and Mom,

....lots of snuggles with Gail,

....a short trip to the beach,

....followed by a meet up with Gail's friends at the Inversnecky Café.

....Then I sniffed out the early Spring blooms in the Cruickshank Botanic Garden,

....enjoyed freshly cooked liver for my Birthday Tea,

....plus pigs ear treats from 'Pet Comforts',

....and finally, er, some different antibiotics.

I only wish I could tell you that my paws were completely healed; that would have been the best birthday present by far, but it was not to be. Although the itchiness has now died down, the infection is proving hard to shift and I still find it hurts to walk, which is making Gail very sad. We live in hope that the new antibiotic will finally do the trick.

Apart from your paws still being sore and needing pills, it sounds like you had a wonderful 7th birthday.

  5. Ah Bertie I'm so glad you liked your bday card...I was surely hoping the kitty kisses and paw taps to your paws would help. Kitty slobber is potent but has not antibiotics.
Here's hoping the new meds are just what you need. Did the vet discover what nasty varmit had invaded your paws? 7 is our lucky/favorite number so we are pawsitive the meds will work

Other than icy paws it looks like you had a nice weekend and OMCs the weather was wonderful and all the posies...so purrty

Oh that about looks the bestest of barkday celebrations Bertie lad!!! As for the amoxi-clav... that is what I have had in the past when the lungs have deteriorated into bronchitis and/or pneumonia (thankfully not for a few years now!) and it does hit strong. POTP for it working equally effectively on those paws. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. Gail says: We too were surprised at the rhododendron. It must be an exceptionally early flowering variety.

  25. A belated happy birthday to you, Bertie, and it's lovely to hear your paws are starting to get better! I recently had an out-of-nowhere foot issue and the meds they gave me were just about miraculous in how quickly they settled things down. It is no fun at all to have foot problems regardless of the number of feet involved!
