So why is it, on the ferry from Harwich to Hoek van Holland, that Gail gets to watch me on the video camera from her cabin, but I don't get the chance to keep an eye on her from my kennel?
That aside, I rather enjoyed crossing the North Sea.
On the train to Amsterdam, I relaxed and read the paper and felt relieved that we had not travelled by air.
Gail promises me that we really will be in Switzerland tomorrow evening. Meanwhile, Cheers from Amsterdam!
PS from Gail: apologies for any dodgy formatting on this and subsequent posts while travelling and using the smartphone.
buy some tulips in amsterdam Bertie... and better don't enter a coffee shop LOL have a good travel to switzerland :O)))
ReplyDeleteHmm. I'd been wondering why Gail's been acting a bit funny since we walked past those strange smelling 'coffee' shops...
DeleteYou are such a world traveler! Can't wait to follow your adventures. Glad the boat and train ride went well! On to Switzerland!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!

ReplyDeleteSo good to see you back on terra firma - though it does seem the ferry trip was just fine! (I admire Gail for posting from a fone - I can't even manage from the tablet!) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Oh no poor Bertie. So glad that's over
ReplyDeleteOh wow - you're a seasoned traveller already, Bertie. What fun you're having !
ReplyDeleteNo problems with the language, we hope?
Love,
Petite-Chose and Inca xx
None at all. We just spoke to a nice young man from Argentina who made a big fuss of me and said back home he had a wire fox terrier called Lupe. Oh and the chap from Paris in the hotel lobby was a big WFT fan too!
DeleteWe believe that simply being a WFT is all it takes to communicate with almost anyone! Glad it's daytime and you are off the ferry!
ReplyDeleteBertie and Gail first of all we think the posts are wonderful and do so appreciate you sharing the adventure with us. I expect if there had been a camera in Gail's cabin you would have caught her snacking.
ReplyDeleteAs for my curling preferences. First I will get on whatever it is turn in circles and all of a sudden plop down. Mom says it reminds her of musical chairs. She never knows where I'll land.
Happy travels
Hugs madi your bfff
just think of the stamps you will be getting in your passport Bertie
ReplyDeleteAnd just why weren't you IN the cabin with Gail....sheesh!
ReplyDeleteLove you on the poop deck!
Wow, she can spy on you but not you on her. Not fair! Thank you for sharing this wonderful trip with us. We wish it was easy for us to travel to Europe.
ReplyDeleteYou're in Amsterdam?? Hope da interestin smells don't give ya too bad a case of da munchies! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Bertie...we are sooooooo enjoying seeing and reading about your travels!! Although, we also think you should have been curled up next to Gail in her ferry cabin!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!

Cannabis Ice Cream? Did you get a lick of that?
ReplyDeleteBonnie n Kenzie
That video link sounds very high-tech, but we definitely agree it should be two-way!
ReplyDeleteOh my that was rather unfair on the ferry. I know two dogs who would not have tolerated that! Loving the tales from your grand European Tour. Michael Palin and for that matter Portillo, eat your heart out!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you and welcome in Switzerland ! We heard of you on Tootsie's blog ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteBertie, were you smoking pot??
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Bertie - We shall put any dodgy formatting down to the cannabis ice cream.
ReplyDeleteBertie were you the only dog traveling? Like you really have privacy. Did you visit the Ann Frank house while in Amsterdam. That street looks like the one the house sat on.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
There was one other quiet collie chap on that ferry.
DeleteWe walked past the Ann Frank house, close to where the photo was taken (well spotted!) but did not go inside.
