Dear Bertie, Judging by my walk less than an hour ago (when the one at the other end of my leash kept telling me to stop sniffing and "heal" or "leave") Gail should allow at least 50% more time than the sign posted human walking time for you to sniff, so that you can really enjoy things. It would be such a shame to travel all the way to Switzerland and miss the smell of something really good, and with your scientific nose I look forward to reading a detailed report, when you get back to the UK, about what the most memorable smell you found was during your "Grand Tour" of Europe.
I still can't believe you are travelling around Europe! I can only dream of the places and smells you get to experience.
Hari OM Good grief Bertie, there ought to be alternate signs for the dogs who wish to walk their humans at a more informative and educational pace, donchya think??! I'd be lobbying the Swiss tourist board about that. Or at least dropping a hint. Looks like you are at least getting decent weather. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Bertie I am quite positive there is not enough sniffin' time factor in for a WFT sniffin' new and exciting places. What a beautiful view in that last photo. Hugs madi your bfff
We say the time factor should definitely be doubled. You may need to do a scientific study on this while you are there Bertie; and submit your results to the Swiss Travel and Hiking Authority! Smileys! Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
First there was Hamish the Westie. Then there was Bouncing Bertie. Now we have new WFT puppy Nobby. Will he be Nice Nobby or Naughty Nobby? Watch this space!

Yes, sniffing is a big factor! Particularly when it is a new place for us canines, and such a beautiful place too.
ReplyDeleteexactly - people are always in such a rush - they need to stop and read the pee mail - right?
ReplyDeleteBertie - Still no news on the fondue.

What a lovely place ! In which area of Switzerland are you, Bertie ? Purrs
ReplyDeleteYesterday's adventure was in Goms, but we are based near Lugano.
DeleteThat's a beautiful area. Enjoy it ! Purrs
DeleteWell we sure hope Gail gives you ample sniffing time. We can only imagine the number of new sniffs that must be taken in, then categorized!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
People never factor enough sniffing time. We hope Gail gives you lots in Switzerland!

Sniffing is essential. Keep a record so those signs can be corrected!!! JH
ReplyDeletePerhaps they need to add sniffing time, though all sniffers aren't the same...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI think it is you got to get it on and keep truckin. Go forth Bertie you are on an adventure.
