Quick HGD update + big thank you to M-T

Well, while Gail was away down south, I had a fine old time at home in Aberdeen looking after being looked after by Marie-Thérèse. She took me for walks and gave me lots of lovely cuddles, although for some reason, after I had a 'squirty Bertie' episode on Friday, she did seem to be carefully avoiding the bum area....

As for Human Grandad, he is still in hospital after his fall. Nothing is broken, but Gail tells me his face is cut and bruised quite spectacularly and he is ever more confused about things. I can tell that Gail is still worried, 'cos of the way she squeezed me extra tightly when she returned home last night.

I don't have any new pictures today, but in the circumstances it seems appropriate to show you a soothing one of me relaxing peacefully in front of the wood-burning stove in Torridon a couple of weeks ago. I would like to thank another lovely friend of Gail's, Dave, for spiffing up the stove so that it works much better than before and we'll be nice and cosy over there this coming winter.

  8. hey Bertie,

I am so sorry to read of your HGD. He must have been so frightened having fallen but I am glad he has not broken anything. How sad he seems confused about things. My paws are crossed for your HGD and my human is sending lots of prayers his way. We also hope Gail is doing O.K. It is always difficult to see a loved one hurting, especially a parent. Prayers and positive thoughts to Gail.

"Squirty Bertie" - too funny! Poor M-T! She is a trooper for taking care of you so well! ;->

  9. It often seems that when older people get sick or injured, their bodies focus all the attention on recovering and so their thinking processes are messed up for a bit. Hopefully HGD will feel better soon and be less confused, too, as his body recuperates! Sending all our good wishes to him for a speedy recovery. And maybe some nice relaxation in front of that lovely wood stove would do him some good when he feels better? It sure looks like it would make just about anybody or anycreature feel better!

  10. Our thoughts are with your HGD and your mama too cuz it's hard when it's a parent having the troubles. Hope the squirting situation has resolved itself. Did that happen because you missed your mom and it gave you a tummy ache?

  17. WE are sorry to read your HGD is still in hospital but that is the best place for him to be while he recovers.

We love our wood burner, in fact Taffy is usually half way in it during the winter months. You will be all warm and toasty in front of yours.

  20. Hope Grandad is feeling better and on his way home. Is Grandmom able to care for him herself? Perhaps you can find a helper for her if need be.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,

  21. We're keeping our paws crossed for HGD. We do hope he'll be able to go home soon. Bet HGM is lonely without him there. Next time, Gail should take you down with her. Bet your WFT energy and kisses will buck him up a treat.

  22. Oh Bertie...we are so sorry your HGD had a spill!! It's so hard when they have a fall like that. We are sending our healing vibes to help with him and Gail who is probably very worried...take it easy on her pal, OK?

Oh...Mumsie had to wash all the covers on the bed as Stan had one of those leaky bum issues this morning...so unpleasant to awaken to...

Now, do NOT go to our blog...Scruffy has some stoopid unscientific post about my grandmother being a dinosaur...with so called pics to prove it.
