Here in Aberdeen, we are still under a "strong recommendation" not to travel more than five miles from home.
How lucky we are, then to have, close at hand (or paw) such a variety of lovely places to visit. So this week, for Nature Friday I've put together a 'top ten' selection of photos taken over the past couple of months, to celebrate the often under-appreciated pleasures of staying local.

ReplyDeleteBertie lad, this was an excellent choice for Nature Friday posting!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
What lovely photos, Bertie, you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. Even your weather is pretty good too - just look at that wonderful blue sky! Of course the photos wouldn't look anywhere nearly as good without your handsome self!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Inca xx
The good weather has not lasted into June...
DeleteYou sure do have the most gorgeous place to visit, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful space for a walk! Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteBertie what breathtaking views you have within 5 miles. I could walk and walk and walk some more.
ReplyDeleteThe clematis is gorgeous adorning the lovely stone house. Now all that being said my friend
YOU ARE STILL STAR OF THE Post.
Happy Friday and Hugs
Cecilia
You found some beautiful nature to show us Bertie. We can tell how happy you were to be out enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteWowza, what a lovely area you live in!
ReplyDeleteMy hometown, Bertie. I got my wedding pictures done in the Glass House at the Duthie Park.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me laugh now that people think Fittie is a beautiful heritage village. My Dad grew up there and the stories he could have told them.
It is a beautiful 5 miles to be stuck in Bertie!
ReplyDeleteLove the home with the clematis if there were a for sale sign and the price was right you would have us for a neighbor.

So much beauty all around you!!! Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. Have a fun weekend, Bertie and Gail.

I think you live in the most English looking place in all of England.
ReplyDeleteBertie please tell Gail the peeps do go swimming in the lake. It is a little early for that as the lake is just 13C but it will get into the 20s. The kids we share the beach with who are 4, 8, and 10 were swimming yesterday! (About 10 days ago the lake was only 7!)
ReplyDeleteSo, the bright side is you can explore those 'overlooked' places nearby. A great walk.
ReplyDeleteWe are so jealous of your beautiful walks! No wonder you are out and about with Gail so much, how you one stay in with such beauty to behold!
