Did Shakespeare get it wrong?
I mean, to say:
"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?"
Is not necessarily a compliment in Northern Britain.
Hmm. The delights of July in Torridon. (And I haven't even mentioned the midges yet.)
You know what? I think I'll stay indoors...
Bertie - Look on the bright side. No need for sun screen on your nose.
ReplyDeleteCrikey .... you've got the fire on in summer. We don't even put ours on in winter.

ReplyDeleteI jolly near switched the central on the other night. Managed to resist, but it required a couple of knee blankets. Fun, ain't it? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We would love for you to push some of that chilly damp air this way. It is in the 90s and we have the VA equivalent of midges too!
ReplyDeleteBertie, thank goodness you've got that lovely thick fur to keep you warm.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty hot here and we're about to close all the windows and put the air-con. on until it gets dark.
Love,
Inca xx
OMCs Bertie an indoor fire in July....that is just hard to comprehend for us since we have a furnace outside with high 90's but we all do what we have to do right? Thank goodness for a nice warm woodburning stove
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
Here that would indicate the person was being called sunny, hot and sweaty.

Murphy & Stanley
It's HOT HOT HOT here. I may need to hope into da pool to cool off.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your fire.
Wags,
Ranger
We totally feel your pain Bertie...here on the Northwest Pacific coast, the evenings are definitely cool enough for a toasty fire. Our humans refuse tho...they just can't bring themselves to light a fire in July!

We have only had 4 summer days without any rain . . . Definitely not a compliment here😀
ReplyDeleteWe think mid-July next to the fire says it all!
